MARILYN’s Letter
Hi y’all,
I don’t really know what to tell you, I hope you’re not disappointed in me for not finishing the album yet. Believe me, I have been trying – but due to managerial problems I’ve been held back, but as Nik Kershaw said "I WON’T LET THE SUN GO DOWN". I’m so desperate to do some live shows, but unfortunately I am human, and the longer I leave it, the more nervous I get, so the better the show has to be etc. Soon – soon!! The most exciting thing that’s happened so far this year – well recently – has been the recording of two songs in Detroit with a producer called Don Waz. The two tracks are called "Mountain to the ocean" and "Baby you left me". Both sound great so I have a choice for the next single! Which, by the way, should be in your shops in January – so why don’t we all pull together and save up our pennies to try and get a first number one?!! Oh well, it’s only a thought. Thank you again (yawn) for all your letters and stuff – No, I do appreciate your time and efforts! I’m sorry I can’t reply to all of ‘em! Please try and send pictures of yourself so I can see what you look like. Thank you for staying interested and caring so much.
Soon!
Love + kisses

Robert’s Letter
Well Hello again!
As you can see by MARILYN’s letter, his next single, along with the album, will now not be released until the New Year. The album title we are now unsure of! It was going to be called MY BOX OF MOUNTAINS, but MARILYN has thought of a couple of other titles he finds more appropriate, which include DESPITE STRAIGHT LINES or OVERDRAFT, so I’ll have to let you all know as soon as I know for sure.
In future, I think I’d better write "Information correct at time of going to press". Things do tend to change here from day to day, so you won’t stone me if you see me walking down the street, will you?
Let me now tell you about MAZ’s next single. As you’ve probably guessed, it may not be MOUNTAIN TO THE OCEAN! ….. MARILYN has written a couple of new songs, which he thinks might be better. He’s hoping to record these in New York when he goes there to see his friend perform at Madison Square Gardens in November. He’ll also be celebrating his 22nd birthday over there on the 3d of November, so we wish him all the best.
Thanks again to the best fans in the world,
Robert

Dear MARILYN,
In reply to Andrew’s letter in the last Newsletter, I would just like to add that apart from being a Heroic Figure, you are the only person in the music business who is making brilliant music, with lyrics to match.
You’ve got great style, and certainly a fab personality with a great sense of humour, which I admire.
My last word to you, MAZ, is that in my 17 years of life, I don’t know how I, and many others, have survived; maybe it’s because we knew that someday you would appear, and give us the extra confidence we needed to see that this world ain’t such a bad one after all.
Amen! God bless.
BROTHER FRANKIE, London
Dear MARILYN,
Little did I know when I first set eyes on a picture of you, just less than eight months ago, what a great influence you were to have on my life.
You see, I was heading in a really bad way. I was on drugs and almost a low class junkie. Unlike you, I was easily influenced.
I then found this article about you. It read: "I’ve tried every drug there is and now I don’t do them at all. I don’t drink either; believe me, it’s not worth it. Who wants to live like that? You may as well be dead, and if you stay on it, you soon will be."
That got me thinking, and since that day I’ve never touched another drug. What you said is so true. I’ll be your fan forever. Thank you for everything, MARILYN.
Love,
BARBARA, South Africa
Dear MARILYN,
I’m really glad that you came onto the music scene – thank you! You’ve added some new life, colour and meaning.
There are so many songs that don’t really speak to anyone. I feel that your songs are different, and that – for me at least – they have a message. Perhaps that is because they are the thoughts and feelings of someone I can relate to and feel in touch with. So many people can really feel what you write, because you don’t concern yourself with politics or abstract subjects, but simply write and sing from the heart. You were right when you said that all your music is "soulful".
I also admire your appearance very much; I think you have a unique style and elegance all your own. So often you are criticised and abused by "normal" people who may think of you only as "some transvestite with lipstick". How wrong they are! There is so much more to you. You are strong enough to survive the insults, but human enough to always feel them.
As far as I can see, you combine all the best qualities of both sexes, and you are a very beautiful person both inside and out. That’s something to be truly admired, MARILYN. Thank you.
Love,
WILLIAM O’MAILLEY, Scotland
