When youre deciding on a band name (something catchy, something
instant, something thatll give a lasting impression) its probably best not to
settle for something that sounds like its just beamed down from a tacky 60s sci-fi
B-movie like a bad special effect when your music sounds similarly unconvincing,
under-produced and lacklustre.
Dawn of the Replicants are slight sufferers of this overly appropriate moniker
syndrome. That isnt to say that there arent a number of budding young stars in
this low-budget picture. Quite the opposite. Theres a rancid pop wilderbeast just
dying to get out, if only it could muster the energy and concentration.
They may make the main feature one day, but for the while treat them with caution.
