Fatboy Slim's real name is Quentin Norman Cook but he goes by Norman Cook. He is from Brighton, England. He started in the music business in the 80's by playing bassist for the pop group, the Housemartins. After their break-up, he formed a fun band called Beats International. When he decided to fly solo, he put out a lot of singles under different names;Pizzaman, Norman Cook Presents Wildski, Freakpower, Fried Funk Food, and Mighty Dub Katz. He was very successful and had many hits in the UK Top 40. In early 1996 he recorded "Better Living Through Chemistry" in his attic [which he affectionately likes to call "The House Of Love"]. The album title refers to a slogan from 1950's America, advocating that hyperactive children should be quieted down with large doses of valium. The title is also a nod to his pals, The Chemical Brothers, who helped to convince him to put the album together. His latest album, "We've Come A Long Way, Baby," is kickin. "Rockafeller Skank" and "Praise You" blew up the techno scene. Norman Cook owns and plays at the Big Beat Boutique [a beat-filled club in England]. All in all, Norman Cook [A.K.A. Fatboy Slim] is one of the most sought after party DJ's on the planet!
