***5/1/98 : VH1's special "100 Greatest Artists of Rock & Roll," asked 600
musicians to select top 100 fellow musicians. Out of 728 nominees, The
Jackson 5 placed 44th, while Michael Jackson placed in the 40th spot. During
the show, musician pay tribute to other musicians, and here is what they said
about Michael:
Brandy: "Michael Jackson, he is just like; he is the king of it all.
Everything that
everyone's doing now, he's already done. He's opened a lot of doors for a lot
of artists today."
Niel Rogers Chick: "Michael has always been one of those artists that I
personally cannot believe. I can't believe how great he is, and I quite
frankly
have always been in awe of Michael's talent."
M.C. Hammer: "Just a phenomenal artist, the [word] speaks for itself. You
don't
go much beyond Michael Jackson when it comes to performing and making
good records."
Elton John: "He is a very smart cookie, Michael. He knows what he wants, he
knows what he is doing. I have nothing but admiration. Also, he is a very kind
person."
Little Richard: "Michael is fantastic. I love him. He is a great artist, one
of the
greatest entertainers I've ever seen."
Teddy Pendegrass: "People like Michael come along once in history. He's a
bonafide superstar."
***4/30/98 : The MJ Day USA party plans have reached media attention -
Columnist Liz Smith told E! television viewers : " ... There will be on June
28th
at New York's Sobs club a big celebration, Michael Jackson Day USA. There
will be videos and records and Michael Jackson's fans whooping it up, and
they won't care one bit about the unsavory gossip that attaches itself to his
name."

***4/27/98 : According to the April 25, '98 issue of Billboard magazine, "I
Want
You Back 98" - a video by the Jackson 5 and Black Rob - is being shown on
The BOX video channel. "I Want You Back 98" (selection # 253) is presently
the # 8 most requested video on the BOX.
***4/26/98 : Ghosts is at # 7 (up from 8 last week) in its 18th week on the
Official UK Music Video Chart.
***4/21/98 : In an interview with Electronic Urban Report, A&M Records
executive McClain said that his is trying to convince Michael Jackson to move
his MJJ Records from Sony to A&M. He also said that he [McClain] is
unofficially serving as Michael's manager. McClain says that Michael is going
to be back with a album that's going to surprise a lot of people, "This record
is
on another level. This album is frightening in its musicality. He's singing
phenomenally. Michael's gonna dictate all of late '98, 99, 'til year 2000."

***4/19/98 : Linda McCartney died of cancer in Santa Barbara, California on
Friday, while on vacation there. Her husband, Paul McCartney, was at her
side. She was 56.
For the entire MJ Internet Fan Club, we wish the McCartney family our sincere
and heartfelt condolences.
Linda McCartney appeared in the video "Say, Say, Say" along with Michael
Jackson and Paul McCartney. Michael has been a long time friend of the
McCartney family.
