Angel's Hair - 3

Installment 3

Callista

"Yeah" he replies, to my astonished question. I looked up to see his reaction and he smiled his 1000-watt smile, it made me silly putty in his hands. All I could do was to smile back it him as though his smile had infected me, a feeling I loved. We laid under the tree a few more moments in silence, just looking up at the lights.

" Cal! Cal where are you?!" my father, David, called from the kitchen.

Taylor scooted out of the way and I crawled out from below the tree. I helped him up and we realized that my cousins had left us alone.

" Here Dad," I shouted walking into the kitchen, Taylor had followed behind me.

" Oh there you are, well dinner should be ready soon but I wanted you to introduce Noah's friend to the family. He said something about you two hitting it off and he figured that you would enjoy the pleasure." David said looking Taylor over, and then smiling a sly smile at me, and giving me a look like "Aww you Two are so cute together". Knowing full well that that would embarrass me, he lived to do that. I blushed and looked down at my toes, which peeked out, from my platform sandals.

" Sounds cool to me" I said turning to Taylor.

He smiled back at me and I, feeling bold and flirtatious, took his hand leading him into the TV room where my younger cousins were playing some game system or another. I introduced him to my male cousins: Rob, Mike, Tyler, Andrew, George, Anthony, Bryan, Ryan, and Zachary. Then he met my Female cousins: Susan, Angela, Michelle, Cait, Neve, Alyson, Bree, Erin, Kelly, Kayla, Kelseigh, and Siobhan. Lastly he met my aunts, uncles, Grandparents, Family friends, and my brothers and sisters: Brendan-17, Eve-13, Lexiann-8, and Joshua & Juliet- 3-year-old twins.

" Hope you're good with names" I joked after he had been introduced to the entire gang and we were about to sit down to dinner.

" So do I" he replied, heading into the dining room.

Dinner was delicious and was filled with deliriously wonderful conversation. The holiday energy and joy filled the room, Love was thick in the air, as though it could be cut with a knife. Everyone talked of his or her year and what was new in his or her life. We found out that my ant Carla was pregnant and that my oldest cousin Angela was engaged to her long time boyfriend Tim. I had been waiting all year for this wonderful day and now Taylor holding my hand under the table made it seem even more right.
