At around 1:00 Brian called and invited us over to his house for a barbecue by the pool. We accepted and left as soon as possible.
"I hope your friends don't still think I slept with Amanda," AJ said.
"I set them straight," I said.
We arrived at Brian's house just when everyone was beginning to eat. Jessica came over to us and said hello. I noticed that AJ was unsure of whether or not the girls still thought of him as guilty.
"There's Howie and Kevin," AJ said.
"Go ahead and talk to them I'll fix your plate," I said.
"Thanks babe, I'll take some of everything," he said kissing my cheek.
"Looks like we're all stuck serving our men," Hazel laughed as she piled chicken on Nick's plate.
"Yeah, this is the life," Jessica joked.
"So you and AJ are cool now, right?" Dominique asked.
"Yes," I huffed. "We are fine, we are better than fine we are perfect."
The doorbell rings and Jessica takes off towards the door. Not three minutes later she comes back running and beckons me over to her. "Guess who has the nerve to come here?"
"Who?" I ask.
"Amanda," she answers.
I take one look at Jessica, put my plate down, and walk calmly into the house. I enter the foyer and there she is standing in the mirror fixing her hair. I clear my throat and what for her to turn around.
"Oh its you again," she sneers.
"Yes me again. What are you doing here?" I ask.
"It's none of your business what I'm doing here."
"Actually if its dealing with my man AJ then it is my business," I say.
She walks over to me and says, "AJ is MY man and will always be MY man until I decide otherwise."
I step forward and say, "Look honey you better back up."
"And what if I don't, what are you going to do little girl?" she sneered.
I was going to show her ass what I was going to do. Just when I almost hit her Jessica interceded and pulled me back.
"Come on Kelly, don't."
"Yeah, listen to your friend before you get your ass kicked. Now if you'll excuse me I have a man to surprise," Amanda taunted.
I tried to be civil, but after that I had to hit her. I broke free of Jessica and punched that smug face right in the jaw. Somehow we both fell to the ground punching each other. Jessica ran outside to tell everyone.
"I need some help Kelly and Amanda are fighting," Jessica yelled.
Everyone ran into the house and saw us on the floor. "Oh shit, chick fight," Nick laughed aloud.
I was just beating Amanda down to the ground. She tried to pull her hair from out of my hand, but I wouldn't let go. I got one more good hit in on her eye before AJ lifted me off of her.
"Kelly, Kelly, come on its over," he said trying to hold me.
"I was just getting started," I yelled.
"Oh you want some more? Come and get it" Amanda taunted getting to her feet.
I screamed as I broke free of AJ's arms and jumped on top of Amanda. That time I got in a few more punches before I was pulled off again by AJ. "Come on we're going back outside," he said carrying me towards the door. He carried me outside and sat me down on a chair.
"You should have let me beat her down," I said.
"She's probably already going to have a black eye the way you were swinging on her."
"Good," I said.
"What was that about?"
"AJ don't play stupid, it was about you. We were fighting over you," I said.
He pulled me towards him and gave me a peck on the lips. "I can't believe you fought for me."
"Well I did."
"Okay, she's gone," Dominique said. Everyone was coming back to the barbecue.
"Yeah, I told her she had to leave," Howie said.
"I don't know what made her think she was invited," Brian said.
"Me neither," AJ said.
Jessica handed me a bowl of ice for my knuckles. We were all silent for a moment, but it didn't last long.
"Man, I wish I could've seen that fight from the beginning. Kelly, who hit who first?" Nick asked laughing.
"Nick," Kevin warned.
"Now that you mention it Kelly hit her first. It was so funny one minute Amanda was talking and the next they were on the ground fighting," Jessica laughed.
"Yeah, poor Amanda," Shannah laughed.
I could tell that everyone was trying hard not to laugh, but when I started laughing everyone joined in. The fight was the talk of the barbecue. Nick and Hazel even did a reenactment for everyone. At around 8:30 we all went into the house and decided to watch movies. I went in the kitchen with Jessica to make us some drinks. I pulled out the blender and proceeded to make some pink panties, screwdrivers, and hurricanes. I took the drinks back to everyone and passed them out. Throughout the night we had drink after drink after drink, but none of us got drunk. We knew when to say when.
"I think its time for Kelly and me to go. We have some stuff to discuss," AJ said standing up.
"Well celebrate a little for me," Howie laughed.
"Me too," Brian joked.
"And me," Kevin said.
"And me," Nick echoed.
"Goodnight you guys," I said.
We drove home in silence and when we arrived I fell out of the car laughing.
"You're are so drunk," AJ laughed.
"No, I am not," I disagreed. I followed him into the house.
