Drying myself, I slipped into some clothes and made my way down the stairs. I walked into the living room to find everyone sitting infront of the T.V. A.J must have heard me come down the stairs cause he turned around and said,
"And good morning to you. You two slept in late...Rough night, eh?" I grabbed the nearest cushion and threw it at him, missing him completely and hitting Nick on the head. Startled he turned and looked around suspiciously.
"Who threw that?" A.J burst and cracked up bad.
"Sorry Nick, didn't mean to hit ya'; I was aiming for big mouth bandit here," I explained, while giving A.J a good wack on the head with my palm.
"Hey, where is Brian anyway?" Nick asked.
"Oh he's upstairs getting changed" I answered and looked at A.J waiting for him to say something. When he didn't, I walked into the kitchen to find Les and Amanda chatting. "Good morning, guys," I interrupted.
"Hey," they answered together. I didn't hang around long enough to find out what they were talking about, but instead, walked out onto the balcony to find Kevin staring out at the ocean. I sat down beside him and followed his gaze. He remained silent, as though he was thinking deeply. The silence was interrupted as laughter exploded in the next room. Kevin turned his head and realised I was sitting next to him.
"Hey you're awake, Brian up?" He asked.
"Yeah, Brian's up," I answered, while stretching out my arms. "Kev, is there anythin wrong?"
"Nah, just taking in the beauty," he replied. I rose up and patted him on the back. "If there's anything I can do..." I began.
"Thanks, I'll consider it, if anything's wrong," he answered with a smile.
I walked back into the living room to find Brian still hadn't come down. Curious, I began climbing the steps. Once I had reached the top, I walked into our bedroom to find the room empty, but I could feel Brian's presence close-by. Puzzled, I walked toward the balcony, only to find it empty. Suddenly two strong arms wrapped around me. Startled, I turned around and found Brian staring back at me with a concerned expression on his face.
"What's the matter, sweetie?" he asked.
I didn't find a need to answer him; instead, I wrapped my arms around him and lay my head on his chest, letting him read my mind. He pulled away and took hold of my hand and led me downstairs. He didn't even stop once he reached the lounge room, but took me through the front past everyone. He then took me around the back and onto the sand. Once stopped, his hand left mine to pull a velvet box out of his pocket. My eyes widened with amazement and curiosity. Brian smiled and gently opened the box. Inside the box there was a ring and a heart with a chain running through it. "It's a promise ring, and my heart which will always belongs to you," he said, as he slowly took the chain out of the box and placed it in my hand. I stood there motionless as tears formed in my eyes. He unhooked the chain, placed it around my neck and hooked it at the back. I felt the cold touch of the heart as it lay upon my chest. Tears streamed down my face as I threw my arms around his waist. His arms wrapped around me and held me close.
"I love you," he whispered into my ear.
"I love you more," I answered, breaking away from his embrace.
"You have no idea how much you mean to me," he said, stroking my face.
"Thank-you for giving me a part of you," I whispered and held him for awhile longer. I then pulled away from him and stepped back. Kneeling down, I grabbed a handful of sand and rose up. Brian noticed the twinkle in my eyes.
"You're up to something," he said, suspiciously watching my every move.
"I might be" I answered, stepping towards him. I playfully flung the sand at him and sprinted off. Brian ran right after me once he caught up to me I dodged him and ran back the way I had come but Brian grabbed hold of me and picked me up as he began walking towards the water.
"Brian, don't you even..." I was cut short as he dropped me into the water. I resurfaced pulling him down with me, as soon as we came back up to the top I splashed the water at him and tried to get away but he was to quick, he caught hold of me spinning me around I swung my arms around his neck as I lost balance and fell back into the water taking him with me. Our lips met underwater and locked as we surfaced. I slowly pulled away and looked up at him. The silence broke when Nick began screaming from the balcony.
"Hey Brian, nice of you to have dessert and miss out on breakfast and not to mention say good morning." We both laughed.
"Sorry frack I'll be there" Brian yelled back.
"C'mon sweet thing before I get a toothache" he said picking me up into his arms so I wouldn't have to walk the rest of the way.
"I think you've already given me one" I giggled.
