His deep blue eyes were glistening with a joy I hadn't seen in ages. I gave out a deep sigh and looked away as tears threatened to pour.
"Mich" a voice called. I hesitantly turned my head to find a worried set of green eyes staring back at me.
"It's that bad huh, I really thought you guys would get pass this" Sarah said sitting down beside me. I bit my lip at her words.
"It's not the same anymore" I choked. Sarah put her arm around my shoulder.
"Yeah I know... but maybe if you gave him till the end of the tour things might change."
"Sarah... we're drifting apart, we're barely ever alone and when we are we are to tired to do anything..." I looked down and began kicking at the sand on the ground. Sarah stood up and clutched my arm.
"Come on... let's go watch the guys do their thing. All you need to do is look into Nick's beautiful blue eyes and you will fall in love all over again" she stated with a false cheerfulness. I let her pull me up and over to the guys who were getting ready for their new video "Lost Love". Nick gave me an awkward look an smiled. A lump formed in my throat and my eyes soon began to blur.
"Oh shit" I thought. The expression on Nick's face instantly changed.
"Michelle, what's wrong?"
I couldn't take it anymore, I ran out of the studio and into the nearest dressing room where I began sobbing uncontrollably.
"Michelle, Michelle, Michelle..."Nick called out. He continued calling me, his voice getting louder. Not long after Nick was standing in the doorway.
"Michelle" he said once more and walked over to me, wrapping his arms around my body. Just having his arms wrapped around me sent more pain through my body than I could handle. I cringed then painfully pulled away from his embrace. He looked at me questioningly.
"What happened, what's wrong, what..." he asked at once. I put my finger to his lips, cutting him short. My lips began quivering as I tried to think of how I was gonna go through with this. Thoughts began racing through my mind. Nick's eyes were wide open watching me intensely, attempting to read my face. I closed my eyes and drew in my breath before opening my eyes once again.
"Nick..." I barely whispered. He remained still, I knew he had a feeling what was coming next. I continued.
"Nothing... nothing's the same anymore. I can't even make you smile... like I used to..." I paused.
"I... I... I think we need a break from this... from each other... from us"
Tears streamed down my cheeks leaving stains on my shirt, as I choked the words out. Nick looked away and remained quiet. The next couple of seconds were left in silence. I helplessly watched Nick water eyed. Moments later, Nick stood up.
"I'm late" he muttered and walked out barely even looking at me. I watched him walk out, like a statue. I knew from then on I had just made the biggest mistake of my life.
