Chicks Banned By Band

The Backstreet Boys are fleeing to the Bahamas to start writing their new album -- and they've put a ban on girlfriends joining them. Band member AJ Mclean says the band are getting back to basics for their next musical offering, and they don't want to be hampered by women while they get on with it. McLean says, "We're going to the Bahamas for ten days to start writing and producing the album. It will be interesting to see what we come up with without our girlfriends, fiancees, and security around." And McLean, who's also releasing two solo albums, one under his own name and one under his rock alias Johnny No Name, says the new album is going to be a lot more organic than the last -- and they might even play their own instruments. He says, "We'll be moving away from the computer generated stuff. Nick (Carter) is really adamant about playing live drums, and Kevin (Richardson) would like to play the piano more, so we'll probably all pick up instruments this time around. It's more about the quality of the music than just wanting to sell 15 to 20 million albums."
