The Puzzle

~
I can hear your sweet voice.
Taste your soft lips.
Feel your arms around me.
Feel your hot breath against my neck.
I ache to make this my reality.
I scream to be real.
Must it all be so broken?
~
A shard of glass to prick my finger.
A knife to twist deep in my heart.
Millions of miles tear us apart,
When you're just a step away.
Dream my dreams.
Ache my aches.
Cry my tears.
~
Will it do any good?
Is it better to suffer alone?
Or bring the world down beside you?
~
The pain I have felt.
The aches still to come.
Take it away.
Just take it all away from me.
Let me be...
~
When will it end?
How long must we all suffer?
We're all broken into pieces and scattered apart.
A puzzle that just may never fit.
Where is my place?
Where will I click?
~
If I closed my eyes,
Would I disappear?
If I held my breath,
Would I no longer be here?
If I imagined hard enough,
Could you and I make one?
~
I'm listening for a click...
Hoping to hear as the puzzle falls into place...
But all is silent.
