Stories behind the Songs
American Dream: I wrote this song at work one night I was working 2nd shift at a BBQ foundry and was missing my family. I was thinking of how hard it was to have the responsibility of having a family and make a living but how great it was.

Gotta Work: My father died at 41 years of age. He was a hard working man. I was seventeen when he passed and the one thing that has always stuck in my head he used to tell us boys. You want something work for it.

Precious Memories: I started writing this song when I had to park my old truck because the motor went out. Its an old 69 Ford and everyone that knows me knows I love my old truck. Ive got it back on the road and drive it to work every day. The places we have been.

Come To Atlanta: I named my project after this song. This was the fastest song I've ever written. Before I started to write I had told myself I wasn't writing anymore songs until I got my older ones recorded. I was jamming one night the idea came to me and I had the song fully recorded the next night. There was no stopping this one.

Straight Shot: When this song came to me I dug deep into my musical youth of Blue grass and folk. Written from my soul. My wife and I have never been separated in 21 years of marriage but to write sometimes I put myself in that state of mind so I can feel how the pain must be to loose your other half be it by divorce or Death. My brother Steve helped me by adding his love for the  Harp. Thanks Steve.

Here we go again: I have two teenage daughter's need I say more?

Grace: This song is about going back to my hometown and childhood memories. Its kind of spiritual to me that's why I call it Grace. Thinking back I had a wonderful childhood. Thanks Dad and Mom.

Should we go on: I wrote this song about a person that wants a relationship but it seems he's the one that is doing all the chasing and pampering so there is questions.

Don't take my 65: My brother Mike is also a songwriter he can write some good ones,he lives in Ohio and I live in Georgia so I don't get home but once, sometimes twice a year. My wife and I were getting ready for a visit and we always get together with my brothers and their wives and play music. About a month before we were going to leave I called my brother and I had a whole list of hooks (titles). I told him to pick one and we would see who could write a better song. I can't remember who won I think we both did because we both had great songs. My truck plays the pipes on this one.

Since you told me you were leavin: It's about a guy that is hurt because his woman said she was leaving and he talks a good game that's he's movin on. But does he mean it?

Good Heart gone bad: This song is basically a song about a man that works all the time and is away from his famliy and home a lot . He's not cheating and tries to make her understand he has to work to pay the bills. She gets tired of setting around crying , her tears dry up heart turns to stone and she leaves.

I Hope some of you folks can relate to my stories. Maybe change your life or realize we  may have gone down some of the same roads in life. Thanks Again......Daniel
