Year 2000 - overview by uksound.
As predicted in the above paragraph, UK Garage has become fairly commercialised with the likes of Artful Dodger and Mc Neet vs DJ Luck - Tottally taking the Charts by storm, and Y-Tribe released their single "Enough is Enough". Surely, as said, Garage has become commercial. With an even more drastic move, Dreem Teem "masters of the underground" moved to Radio 1 for a national show (every Sundays, 10am to 1pm) live UK Garage to the nations ears, on a Sunday morning. Garage will be big and many belive it replace Trance which currently dominates the National Club / Commercial scene. Though this is all happening, it doesn't destruct the scene we see as the Underground, its too strong to die. If a producer or label wants to go to the top, let them do so, we'll always have the underground to keep us going, its been around for years and will stay here. |
