We had what turned out to be a comfortable 2-0 win last night, though it was always in doubt while we were only 1-0 up.

We took the lead within the first 5 minutes or so.

Shaun took a throw in on the left hand side, there was a bit of defensive panic, they failed to clear and somehow the ball fell very nicely for me 10 yards out. I managed to side foot it into the corner with what was only my second kick of the game. 1-0.

For 20 minutes we dominated, then we left big holes in the midfield and stopped using the wings effectively for a while. We weren't too troubled defensively, but we didn't have much potency up front either.

2nd half, more of the same for a while, but we started to threaten a lot more in the last 30 minutes, creating a number of chances but rarely troubling the keeper.

Our 2nd goal came after good work on the left by Wally. I miscued a shot which went spinning 12 foot into the air, it dropped right in front of their keeper, two defenders and Shaun Powell, somehow they all contrived to miss it and it span into the net off the keepers gloves.

I think the presence of Shaun right in front of their keeper may have frightened the poor bloke, any way it was a goal, 2-0 and we were safe.

A couple of scares at the end, but the defence was solid yet again and Jeremy kept his second succesive clean sheet. We deserved the win and should have troubled their keeper more than we did.

One other point of note, Dana got decked by a guy. I believe this is a first for the team and should be noted.

(Dana, it's supposed to be the other way round). Anyway, I hope you're feeling better now, You took one for the team and we all appreciate it.
