Season Summary

A respectable record in the league of  P14  W6 D1 L7 F30 A28 Pts 19 - Final Position was 7th in a division of 12 teams.  We lost a couple we could have won, but I don't think we won any we should have lost so all in all we did OK.

In the Cup we reached the dizzy heights of the 3rd round, beating a Division 2 team on the way and were knocked out by the Division 1 champions and probable cup winners.

Including cup games our record was P17 W8 D1 L8 F37 A41 so we finish with .500 record.

Charlie was our only ever present player, he played in all the games (including the void games which I haven't included in the Statistics.  Duncan Reid and Jon Burgoyne missed only one 'real' game each.

Jon Corchis, Graham Gordon, Shaun Powell and Thomas Knoell (who got a hat trick in one game) scored most of the goals with Graham Gordon and Shaun Powell providing the bulk of the assists.
However with only one assist or less for each goal the statistics don't show the  effort put in by the whole team.  If the defence and misdfield don't win the ball and move it forward, there are no goals or assists for anybody.

Personally, I enjoyed playing this year - Roll on 1999.

I may play for this club, but I always supported this one.

After the referee so graciously offered to "explain the rules" to us the other week, (cheeky bugger), I thought I'd put a link up to The Mighty Reds Laws of the game page.  This has links to the official FIFA laws, but also gives it's own interpretation on some of the finer points.
For example - Did you know the list of permitted clothing does not include underwear?
