Dressing Room
You know how good it is to see someone again
Mutual Obsessions

Ed enjoyed Melissa's company. He was happy she'd decided to join him for the weekend. Their time together at the school and hotel had left him wanting more.

She seemed to enjoy the gallery. Washington parties were always more exciting for visitors. He tried to find a place for the carving he'd purchased at the auction. The crude driftwood hands inlaid with ivory nails looked almost human in the rusted iron shackles. '

'Beseeching Slave' would have a place in his collection for many years to come. "Baby?" He heard Melissa say, "do you like what you bought me?" She stood there illuminated by the firelight. The purple silk robe hit her just above her knees. Her full breasts were draped in the black accent lace of the matching gown.

She smiled at Ed as he positioned the carving on the raised hearth. "It looks nice," she said smoothing her long hair back across her shoulder. "Not as nice as you baby." Ed smiled as he motioned for her to come close to the fire.
"This is great, Lisa," Ed reached up to lower her to the plush quilt he'd positioned on the floor. "I have enjoyed our time together." He softly stroked her inner thigh. The dark oak tones of his fingers contrasted against the brown cream softness of her skin.

He circled the bluish bruise that graced the inside of her leg. "What is that?" he said, slowly brushing his fingers over the spot. "A lover left his mark" she said. "It was worth it, he was good," she giggled as she brushed his cheek.
Yesterday had been so unbelievable. It was simply a chance to meet an on-line lover. They had spoken so many times, but acting on their teasing had been so unexpected. The way they looked at each other now explained their feelings. Hours of really great sex had forged a bond.

Ed pulled a cube of ice from the leaded glass ice bucket. He bent to kiss her knees softly as he looked into her eyes and smiled. "I'm sorry baby, let me make it up to you."

Ed rubbed the ice cube lightly across the bruise. "Your passion brings it out of me Lisa, it makes me want you more and more." He kissed her lightly across her eyes. The ice left chilled, wet trails as he manipulated it with his fingers.

Melissa looked into his eyes. The words could not come from her mouth before their lips met. She felt his tongue dance with her own. Her nails scraped across the bare flesh encasing his ribs. The chilling bite of the ice teased her at her core.

He laid her back across the floor and lost himself in her building desire. The soft jazz that filled the room was accented by the sounds of crackling pine. The flickering shadows created by the fire were an atmosphere for love.

"I want to make last night nothing more than a great memory," Ed said. "We are home baby, and I want you to remember where home is." Melissa sighed deeply, "Eddie, the hotel was just too wild baby, how can it get better?"
"While you were shopping for your clothes, I did some shopping of my own." Ed reached into a cabinet in the coffee table. He pulled out a small box wrapped in shining black paper. Lisa grabbed the box, and read the card. 'Lisa's loving moments' was written in lilting script.

She ripped open the package, and found a special gift. The silver jacket was engraved 'M.S and E.R.' She pulled out her gift and smiled. "I want you to remember who you want when you are all alone." Ed smiled as he watched her finger the very personal item.

"Melissa," he said. "I want you more, and will miss you more than that when you are gone." Melissa kissed her lover deeply. She licked her lips and smiled, "I like this gift, let's try it out."

In the early hours of an autumn morning, Joe Sample's keyboards blended with the rising passions of Ed and Melissa. The fire crackled, and the amber light of dancing flames illuminated an imposing driftwood statue. The quiet hum of an exciting gift fueled their mutual obsession.

and never want them to step away again
Ed's Place

Ed was determined to be more than the perfect host. He wanted to send Melissa back to Pittsburgh with nothing but him in her mind.

The blazing fire created flickering shadows on his living room walls. A dinner cruise vessel cut through the black water of the Potomac River. The Washington Monument's white marble was in the distance.

He stroked her leg lightly. The softness of her skin made him smile as he ran his fingers over her smooth and naked thigh. She enjoyed his touch, and they had somehow found a rhythm in their desire.

Touching, closeness, memorable moments they each wanted to savor as prolonged desire. His bare belly was flat and firm. It offered a perfect resting place for her long slender fingers. She found the feel of the fine hairs delightful. Melissa enjoyed the way her nails snagged them as she traced the contours of his body.

Ed glanced up at her face and smiled. His right leg was bent as he quietly explored the chocolate delights of her silky hips. His lips softly explored her body.

Melissa's fingers clutched at Ed's calf. She tasted the warmth of his skin. The sound of Diana Schurr's torch songs offered a crisp ambiance for the coolness of their desire.

Ed sipped from his glass. The pitcher of Barton Specials were a bittersweet refreshment. He wondered whether they were more intoxicated by their closeness or the mixture of Scotch, Applejack and gin that warmed their throats.

They settled in to learn each other's wants. There were no words, just loving sounds. Warm touches consumed their souls. Two people alone together were now totally absorbed by their quests to be fulfilling. They could not help but to satisfy each other's desires.

Touching, feeling, warmth, arousal, the genesis of new love evolved rapidly. An instinctive familiarity possessed them both. Ed had found a woman who simply fit. Melissa now had a lover whose touch would let her soar.

Her responses were enhanced as she found herself admitting that this was better. The teasing at her school, the arousal at dinner in the lounge, even the night of passion were eclipsed by the present.

She sensed his almost reverent touch as he lightly swept back her gown. The purple silk, was so soft on her skin. It was an inviting wrapping over gifts she now reserved for him alone.

"Oh Lisa she heard him moan, as he responded to her fingers and her mouth. His heavy breathing was muffled as he focused on her pleasure.

For now, they could not enjoy each other more.
They felt the warmth and learned the tastes of mutual passion. Their abandon was fueled by the ever-present calendar and clock.

They each sensed the looming tragedy of obsessive love. There was a frantic desire to make the seconds last. The need to create memorable history in hours drove them both to consume their lover's souls.

Ed wanted Melissa to stay forever. She wanted somehow for him to keep her there. The thoughts that raced through their minds with intensity only fueled the climax that they shared.

There was holding and quiet again. Unspoken thoughts were shared through silent caresses. Soft kisses from moist lips were musky with the mingled scents of love. The wetness of tears did not mark sadness. They were signs of a loneliness both knew would exist once they were apart.

Ed helped Melissa to her feet. They faced each other in dampened silk. Gerald Albright's saxophone reinforced the enjoined solitude of the moment. New lovers realized that they were no longer two separate people.

A silent walk to the window offered them a chance to seal their bond. They glanced over the river. His body pressed close against her back. She was enfolded in his muscled brown arms. Her head rested against his neck. She felt his cheek rubbing her ear softly.

They watched the late night silence of Washington in the distance. The white lights illuminated monuments to power.

But wanting it does not always make it so
Melissa's Moment

Melissa would be leaving soon. She lay there enfolded in her sleeping lover's arms. The hours with Ed had been magical. They fit together so well. The distance was the only drawback.

Melissa considered her options. The school year was just two months old. She wondered what she would do if Ed asked her to stay. She really knew the answer. "Pittsburgh was just three hours away."

The thought of leaving something so good saddened her. She stroked his sleeping nakedness, taking in the images of his body in the breaking coolness of dawn.

Her desire was overpowering. She felt a need to make the closeness last.
Touching.
Stroking.

She was like a voyeur watching her own fingers tenderly caress his hairy chest. The rhythm of his breathing still reflected his deep and restful sleep.

This dawn was a woman's time. Through sad eyes she searched for the composure that would see her through good-bye. She somehow wanted to be free to gauge Ed's emotions. Her coolness might open the road to real communication between them.

Ed had seen her tension at the hotel. Melissa was not proud of that good-bye. She wanted to do things differently this time.
If she left with just a weekend's worth of clothes he bought her, and memories of great sex, would she be invited back.

She wondered how she could wage a long distance war. Melissa did not want to share, and she wanted Ed to feel the same way. "Our two memorable nights together can't be followed by a third," she thought.

Her hands softly worked their way down Ed's body. "If he knows how good it is to wake up beside me, he will want me here."

Melissa's head disappeared beneath the printed linen sheet. Moments later Ed's sleeping body began to stir.

"Come here baby," Melissa found Ed's hands pulling her upward across his body. Her mouth was full as she tried to hold her position beneath his waist. Her lips glided off as though she were releasing a popsicle from her grasp.

"I just want to hold you." he tucked Melissa's head across his chest. His right hand softly stroked her hair as they enjoyed each other's closeness.

Ed sighed deeply, "You know it's hard to talk of love with someone who is so new in your life." This was something that she didn't expect to hear. "Eddy, I know the weekend's almost over," she said.

Ed's fingers stroked softly across the softness of her skin. "I've enjoyed you too much and now I'm spoiled." She somehow moved closer to him, her hand snagging at his chest hair as she absorbed his heartbeat through the right side of her face.

"How could we let this happen?" She said, "What are we going to do?" "You have to fly back to Pittsburgh," the words came softly, but they focused on a reality. "The school year just began, and your place is there."

Ed's words were calm and measured. "I've listened to you talk about the kids. I know you like to teach. I've seen your classroom, besides, when I visit again you said you'd finish what you started in the hall."

What seemed like months now to Melissa was only days ago. She had fondled Ed the first time there on the long plank counter of the office. She remembered how he felt like warm rigid oak, as she reached inside his pants for the first time.

"I wonder if we can go back to the phone and the computer, Eddy." Melissa all but squirmed on top of him. "I like it here beside you close."

Ed's fingers ran down her body, finding the wiry softness between her legs. He whispered, "I like it here beside you, too."

They held each other there in silence. the sun slowly rose behind the Washington monument. The redness of an October morning was filled with softened shadows.

A wet tear rolled down Melissa's cheek and pooled there on Ed's chest. She stifled a curse at destiny that would place her on an afternoon flight.

Unspoken words of love exchanged, they felt and knew each other's thoughts. It was a mutual thing. No one wanted yet to move, and they both wanted each other to feel as though no one or nothing else could matter.

Ed's mother's clock clicked in the hall. Its swinging pendulum offered a retort to anxious breaths and reflective sighs.

Ed smiled as an idea crossed his mind. "Lissa!" Melissa had not heard his voice use that name before. It was something that only her sisters called her, and yet hearing it from him was something rare and different.

"Lissa, they say if you leave something personal at a place you've never been, destiny will bring you back again." Ed shifted on the kingsized bed. He laid her head softly against the soft pillow where his body had been.

"I'll be right back." She watched Ed's naked body disappear through the doorway. She listened as the clatter from the bathroom echoed down the hall.

Ed returned with a smile on his face. "It is Sunday, now, Sunday morning!" His laughter took a sinister tone.

"I want you to remember each day what you left here. Melissa's puzzled look indicated that she didn't have a clue. "Cover your eyes with the blanket," Ed said. "Why," said Melissa. "Because, just because I asked." was his reply.

Melissa was still chuckling when she heard the sound, "Keeeehhhhhhh!" it was strange, but then she felt the gel beneath her navel, and Ed's hand whipping it to a frothy foam. Melissa felt the razor gliding gently over her thinning bush. "When your body reminds you of what you left, look for a plane ticket for the weekend in your mailbox."
