Vackert väder som genom guds för syn
Över träden hänger solen högt i skyn
Hör du klockorna ringer över byn
Det ska ställas till med bröllop
Luften ljuder av orgelbrus och sång
Alla skynder i kyrkan på en gång
Nu så är det dags för festen

Först är det lugnt och stödat minsann
Man sitter så blygt och ser på varann
An är ej tid för skoj och för skämt
Man har ju respekt för prästen
Men maten är god och drycker ibland
kan lossa så smått på tungornas band
Snart hålls det långa högsstämda tal
Det ska det ju va' på bröllop

Brud och brudgum på golvet svävar ut
Snart man brudvalsens toner klingatslut
Sen är alla med i dansen
Spelmannen gnider sveltig och varm
fiolen med stark och uthållig arm
Stråken den far i flygande fläng
och blössande röd är kinden
Kroknade gummor dansar så lätt
De nypar i kjol och niger kokatt
Gubbarna bugar artigt och fint

AT THE WEDDING

Beautiful weather as if gods were watching
The sun is hanging high in the sky over the trees
Do you hear the bells ringing over the village
That shall be the place for the wedding
In the air is the sound of organ music and songs
Everyone hurries to get to the church on time
Now it is the time for the celebration

First it is indeed calm and tidy
You sit so shy and look at each other
There is no time for jokes or jests
You have indeed esteem for the priest
But the food and the drinks are good
they can loosen the tongues hold
Soon everybody is talking
It shall be that way at the wedding

Bride and groom on the floor
Soon the brides-waltz rings out
They are all in the dance
Fiddlers saw  nice and hot
Violins with firm and steady arms
Strings in flying flings
and cheeks blushing red
Bent old ladies dancing so easy
They pinch their skirts and neg coquettish
The old men bow politely and nice
