A very impressive collection of the Experience's three night, six show appearance at Winterland, San Francisco, California from October 10, 11, & 12, 1968. This set of 6 CDs has been compiled from the best available soundboard and audience tapes known. Sound quality on this set is excellent and easily rival any Commercial Release to date. The exception is disc 3 which uses audience sources. Whoppy Cat did release a 6 disc version a few years ago. Due to tape problems, only 3 songs were recorded at the first show and Whoppy filled their disc 3 with the Experience's February 25, 1968 Chicago show. This is not to be the case on disc 3 and 4 of this set as the people who produced this set have used the highest quality audience tapes that are available. As good as the WP set was at the time, this is the set to find and add to your collection. This set shows a very mature and not yet burned out Experience. Despite equipment problems that hampered the shows, great performances from the band abound here. With appearances by Jack Cassidy, Virgil Gonzales, and Herbie Rich. Highly recommended.
