Ricky Martin, the Puerto Rican singer responsible for this year's football World Cup anthem, "La Copa de la Vida,"will give a concert tonight at the Taipei Municipal Stadium.

Taiwan is the fourth stop on Martin's "Vuelve" tour of Asia, which started in Kuala Lumpur, and will also include stops in Manila and Beijing.

Martin brings Taipei a band of 15 musicians, as well as his mother, an older brother and a few cousins.  He explained the rather big entourage by saying "I want my family to see Taipei, as the arena here is the biggest for the tour."

Martin's band has a real international flavor, with players from Poland, Cuba, Italy, and the U.S., among others.  In Martin's opinion, this colorful group of musicians is what makes his concert special.

"Fusion is what my music is about.  Whatever the songs, the musicians still bring their own background to the music and create a unique sound."

For the concert, Martin mentions again and again the wish to see everyone dancing, either to his moves, or spontaneously.  To him, all his actions and moves on stage are natural and a part of him, a part of "fusion."

He said with a very reactions of fans from Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Singapore so far, Martin certainly knows how to turn on the heat.

Press from Japan, Brazil and Mexico are also in Taipei for the event.
