The Albums Of Crystal Gayle |
Here you will find a listing of my Top 5 FAVORITE albums by Crystal Gayle. Each of these albums has a power to it that is unmistakable. I hope that if you are looking to get into listening to Crystal, you will consider these with my highest ratings. If you are already a fan, I hope that these are among your favorites as well.
Straight To The Heart:
This is my absolute favorite, hands down. There are two #1's off of this album (the title
track and "Cry") as well as some beautiful ballads like "Nobody Should Have
To Love This Way". Also "Take This Heart" and "Do I Have To Say
Goodbye" are noteworthy songs. Crystal's voice has never sounded better than on
this album! |

True Love: This is the album that I would find my second favorite. Three #1's came from this album ("Baby, What About You", "'Til I Gain Control Again", and "Our Love Is On The Faultline") as well as great additional tracks as "Deeper In The Fire" and "True Love". This album features more of a "pop" sound. A definite must for any Crystal fan.
Cage The Songbird: This album yielded two #1's ("The Sound Of Goodbye" and "Turning Away") as well as two top 5's ("I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love" and "Me Against The Night"). The title track is one that she sings near perfection attaining a beautiful pitch. Also, "You Made A Fool Of Me" is another song to listen closely to. Also, the cover art is her best for any album!
Best Always: This is a release by Branson Entertainment with new mixes of her classics like "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue" and "Talking In Your Sleep" as well as great covers of standards like "Always" and "For The Good Times". This is another must have, if not just for the songs "Beyond You" and "Ready For The Times To Get Better" (a song that Crystal Gayle states can be taken about life and taken about love).
Three Good Reasons: Last but not least, this is the final of my top five albums. She has great song selection on this one, including covers of Jim Croce and Jimmy Buffett. "A Rose Between Two Thorns" is definitely the best track and tells the story of the child in the middle of parents fighting all the time. "99% Of The Time" and "Living In Tears" are also great songs included on this release. Crystal really knows how to pick some great songs for her albums! |
