Why do you do this?
Why not? I love to sing in the shower and there's nothing more frustrating
than not knowing the words. This site is for all those other shower singers
who hate to "la la" instead of singing words. Also, I really love
the old standards. I love the fact that a song written back in the twenties,
thirties or forties - can still be just as relevant and touching today as
it was back then. I love the way those old songs never go out of style and
how they can be re-interpreted in a million ways and you never get tired
of them. I hate to sound like an old fogey, but there just aren't songs
being written today that I can believe will have the same degree of longevity
and resonance. Agree? Disagree?
Why are there so many typos/errors
in the lyrics?
As well as being rabid, I'm a lazy squirrel. Some of the lyrics are transcribed
by me, some by others. The lyrics are only a guide. They're not meant to
be considered as canon or the be all and end all. Some transcribers can
be relied upon like Ron Hontz or Wayne Garvin, but if they're transcribed
by me, I should let you know that I am the Mondegreen Squirrel. So the word
of warning is that a lot of the lyrics may not be the right lyrics.
Nonetheless - that shouldn't stop your fun.
I e-mailed you a request
and you didn't get back to me!!!!
Sorry about that. *guilty little smile*. I get busy, I get slack. I do try
to get back to everyone or at least post the request to the requests
page. There are many helpful souls out there who help.
I hit the link and it said
that the page wasn't there
Just e-mail me and I'll check it out. If there's a link, it means that I
have the song, it's just there's been a mistake with the upload.
I can't find anything at
the site, your HTML is terrible. Can't you do a text search or at least
an organisation by artist?
Nope. Sorry about that. Squirrels, especially rabid squirrels are very underdeveloped,
HTML-wise. This is the best I can do - song titles. It would be a monumental
task and way too difficult for this squirrel. There are a number of sites
that can help you find out the name of an artist/lyric, then you can come
here to find the lyrics.
Who are your favourite jazz
singers?
I like Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington,
Linda Ronstadt, Eva Cassidy, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday
to name a few. I prefer the classics so I'm not a huge fan of Diana Krall
or Holly Cole etc although I do adore "Frim
Fram Sauce" as sung by Diana Krall and I think Michael Bublé
is pretty terrific.
I don't understand your
definition of the word jazz.
Read my Blurb - I have a very very loose
definition of jazz and sometimes I throw some lyrics in here eg showtunes
that may not be jazz at all simply because I don't feel like setting up
yet another website!!!!
What are
you man?
What kind of question is that? I'm a music lovin' squirrel who
just happens to be rAbId.....
Has anyone ever told you
that you have a really dumb name?
Yes.

Note: Among the common North American squirrels are the gray squirrel (Scirius Carolinensis) and its black variety; the fox, or cat, sqirrel (S. cinereus, or S. niger) which is a large species, and variable in color, the southern variety being frequently black, while the northern and western varieties are usually gray or rusty brown; the red squirrel (see Chickaree); the striped, or chipping, squirrel (see Chipmunk); and the California gray squirrel (S. fossor). Several other species inhabit Mexico and Central America. The common European species (Sciurus vulgaris) has a long tuft of hair on each ear. the so-called Australian squirrels are marsupials. See Petaurist, and Phalanger.
