John Winston Lennon

John Winston Lennon (changed to John Ono Lennon) was 40 years old when he was assassinated in front of his West 72nd St. Apartment in New York on Dec. 8, 1980 . Lennon was assassinated by a man named Mark David Chapman. Chapman was visiting New York. At the time of the murder Chapman was carrying a copy of Lennon and his wife Yoko's record Double Fantasy. It is believed that the only reason Chapman came to New York was to assassinate John. John was born on Oct. 9, 1940 at 6:30 P.M. at the Oxford St. Maternity Hospital in Liverpool, England. John attended the Dovedale Primary School in Liverpool, England for primary and Quarry Bank High School, for High School. He attended the Liverpool Art Institute for college. He dropped out of the school after forming the skiffle group The Quarry Men, formed of friends from school, including Paul McCartney. John replaced the members with the members of the future Beatles. Then he changed the name to the Beatles. With the Beatles he recorded 14 albums. During his experience with The Beatles he got married twice. His first wife was named Cynthia Powell. They were married in 1962. They had one child. The child's name was Julian. His second wife's name was Yoko Ono. They were married in 1969. They had a child named Sean. John was made famous as a Beatle. They were together for about 10 years. John's favorite hobby was drawing. He like to draw during whatever he was doing. The cartoons that he made as a child are worth a lot of money now. John also liked to read. His Uncle George sat with him every day at the age of 3 or 4 and read over every word of the newspaper. One thing is, it's safe to say that he did not like driving. He was rarely in a car before the Beatles. He always had to ride on the bus. The only cars that he did drive were his Mini Cooper and his Ferrari and he was terrible at it. In the beginning of his adult life he always made fun of people with any kind of deformities. Towards the end of his life he donated money to various charities. He was involved in all of the peace and save the world organizations.. When John was born, John's father, Freddy, was in the Navy. He never came back. He came to John asking for money after he became famous. John's mother thought that she could not raise John by herself. She gave him to her sister to raise when he was an infant. His mother's name was Julia. His aunt's name was Mimi. Mimi's husband was named George. They treated him like he was their own son. John's uncle George died on June 5, 1955. John's mother Julia died on July 15, 1958. She was hit by a car after leaving Mimi's house. Freddy Lennon died on April 1, 1976 at the age of 63.
