Paul was born on June 18, 1942making him the third oldest member of the group. Like John, Paul suffered the death of his mother when he was in his teens. His family lived in a working class area of Liverpool, England. His father's name was Jim and his mother's name was Mary. His father was in the cotton business. He first met John at a performance by John. They got together and the started playing together. Then Paul introduced George and a long, long while later Ringo joined the band. When John first met Paul he was impressed that not only Paul could actually tune his guitar, but he also knew more than three chords. Paul came from a very musical family. Even though he did everything else with his right hand he had to play the guitar with his left hand. When the band got going places they realized that they needed a bass guitarist. George said he wasn't doing it, and John said he wasn't doing so Paul was stuck with it. He became one of the best bass player of all time. His writing style was more of the slow love songs. Although there were many exceptions, Helter Skelter, Sgt. Pepper, ect., this was his main musical style. This might have been because he had a fairly high pitched voice. Overall, Paul was a key member in the Beatles.
