Chris Ledoux with George Canyon
November 17/97 Cowboy's Niteclub,Calgary Alberta Canada.
This concert had alot of build-up from radio to press, and for good reason. Chris LeDoux was coming back. His last concert here back a few years ago had great reviews from every media. So with friends in tow, we trotted off to see him.
The opening act was our friend George Canyon. Yes the same George Canyon that Hildavid so strongly supports through his Fan Club and Web site, so pardon the bias here. The night got off to a great start with George and his band playing songs from the first CD as well as showcasing some new material off his new CD.The material went over very well, and the crowd was very pro George Canyon. The new material sounds great live. He switches from the true country rockers to the country ballads to the Elvis style and the Celtic style with ease, and it works. This man is going to go places with material like this.
After a short break, the main event got started with Chris LeDoux taking center stage, and from the start, it was obvious this was going to be one wild night. Song after song, Hit after hit, Chris whipped the crowd into a frenzy one can only see at a Rock and Roll concert. His unique story telling songs were there along with all the rockers. He does have a style all his own, as most artists do, but the style of Chris LeDoux is all his own. Nobody could copy him nor his music. This is what the crowd wants and this is what the crowd gets at his concerts. The intimate settings of the Cowboy's Niteclub is perfect for a wild and crazy time people came to experience.
