Reba and Brooks and Dunn
with David Kersh and Terri Clark

This MEGA concert featuring 4 of the biggest names in Country Music came to Calgary with the expectations of being the concert of the year and it did not disappoint the 15,000 partying fans.

David Kersh
David Kersh is country's newest star in waiting, and judging by his short 20 minute set, his wait may not be that much longer. His tunes are catchy, his stage manners are professional and his pants are tight. He has the mannerism of a seasoned performer and he seems to truly enjoy what he does, and that is entertain the folks with a song list of great songs. The all too short set was over in a wink of an eye, and as he walked off the stage to a thunderous ovation, another newcomer was about to take cente stage.

Terri Clark
"Your Easy on my Eyes" was not only the opening number of Terri's set, but is also very appropiate to describe her stage performance. You just can't take your eyes off of her. She runs around on the stage and kids with the band members, camera operators and the crowd. Oh ya, there is also some great sounding music she belts out. All the big hits came out as if you were listening to a "Best of" Terri Clark CD, and the number of hits will soon make up a "Best Of" CD. Her audience interaction is among the best in the industry and she is one gal that has alot of fun when performing. But as with David Kersh, a short set ended way too soon and the only intermission of the evening followed.

Reba McEntire
Reba made her appearance right after the intermission on a very ordinary stage, but her performance was anything but ordinary. "I'd Rather Ride Around with You" filled the air as she made the stage light up with her prescence. She worked the stage as only a seasoned professional as she would. As the band raised from the floor of the stage and moved into position, we knew this was going to be a special night. The new songs she belted out such as "Forever Love" and "Invisible" will be classics such as "Fancy" and all of the earlier songs, but it's the way they are presented. Presented with the Reba flair and class that follows this lady around.
There are so many things we like about Reba, her music, her voice, her selection of songs, her family values and her great looks, but it is her friendliness and openness that puts her at the top of all female entertainers. As she left the stage after about an hour of performing, we were left wanting more. And that's a sign of a true performer.

Brooks and Dunn
As the lights went down on Reba's performance, a radio could be heard in the distance switching channels so fast you couldn't make out the songs. As the reception got better, you could tell it was Brooks and Dunn playing on the radio. Once they entered the Saddledome walking down the aisle and onto the stage and the party was started. All their hits were showcased with the energy and spunk of these two great entertainers. Kix Brooks even went flying during one song. The voice of Ronnie Dunn is one of a kind and the antics of Kix Brooks were exuberant. It was a fun time for all that came, but there was one more treat in store after their set.
The piano was center stage with Kix Brooks tapping on the ivories. Reba raised to the stage singing "If You See Him, tell him I wish you well." and in a second, Ronnie Dunn sang "If You See Her, tell her I'm doing fine" and the grand Finale was underway. What a way of ending a great night of great country music. We all left the 3 and 1/2 hour marathon feeling good about the state of Country Music.
