Astromonkey has been on Earth for 19 years (20 in June 1999) and has been playing guitar for three of them. His prime influences are Buckethead, Robert Fripp, and Phillipe Ansari. He uses a Stuart Moore custom guitar, through Digitech, Marshall and Zoom effects.

BACKGROUND

Born 20 June 1979 in Northampton, England, Astromonkey originally started out on the harmonica but became annoyed with it's lack of "sinister tweakery" and so he took up the guitar. For the past year and a half he has used the New Standard Tuning, devised by Fripp in the 1980's.

EQUIPMENT

Stuck with his Stuart Moore Custom, Astromonkey plays through a Marshall Shredmaster, a Yamaha Compressor ("Possibly the worst �20 I ever spent"), a Digitech Whammywah and a Zoom Delay. "The only amp I have is a battered 50 watt Rhino, but I'm gradually managing to upgrade my stuff"
