OLD NEWS

Ok people, I ran out of space on my news page so I have to move some of my old news here. Enjoy!

January 6, 1999
Ok guess what? Yeah yeah yeah you are all going where the hell has this chica been and what the hell happened to her webpage? Well my computer kinda DIED and when I took it to CompUSA to get fixed the bastards there broke it some more and then held it hostage for a few months. During this time somehow my page just happened to disappear from the face of the earth and I had NO CLUE! Thank you to all my great friends from IRC who told me that it happened, and so now without further adieu: the updates!

In merchandise news: This issue of YM (the one with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck on the cover) has a picture of Darren and Daniel in it. They are among the 50 Hottest Guys Ever. I think whoever made that list hasn't seen Darren in his Gaultier gear, but hey it is a really nice gesture! A bit bopperish, but it is SOMETHING! We have been in Savage withdrawal for awhile so every little bit helps!

A couple of new CDs hit the market in the UK!  They are "I Want You '98" Parts 1 &2!

I Want You '98 Part 1 comes in a jewel case. It also has a card of lyrics for TTMAB.

Tracks are:

I Want You '98 (bascombe mix)
I Want You '98 (sash radio edit)
To The Moon & Back (karaoke version)

I Want You '98 Part 2 comes in a cardboard case. It includes a free limited edition poster!

Tracks are:

I Want You '98 (sash extended mix)
I Want You (sharp miami mix)
I Want You (xenomania funky mix)

Something interesting about Part 2 is that it only has one new mix, the others are floating around on other singles. Other interesting thing is that for awhile and by some WEIRD error the xenomania funky mix ended up being called the xenomania punxy mix! It is now back to it's original glory, which is goo because I was starting to wonder what the heck punxy meant!

A new poster is making it's way into the merchandise stream! If you want it here is what it looks like! You can get it at www.concertposter.com the same great place where the other poster I advertised (look at one of my first news updates) is from. The cost is $5.99 US plus shipping. Pretty nifty, huh?

In Awards news: Old news... but uhhh yeah (so sue me! I had no computer for a few months!) Savage Garden won 2 Billboard Awards!!! *go SG* They were nominated for 5! Darren showed up as a guest (like any of us would have even known because they didn't give him one iota of camera time! Ok why did *N Sync get so much time on the Billboard Awards when they weren't even NOMINATED??? There is no justice in this world), even though Daniel couldn't make it. They were asked to perform but didn't due to scheduling conflicts.

Speaking of Billboard, well I guess it is an award. If you want to get technical it is really an "achievement" but I am sticking it under Awards news. :P Anyway "Truly Madly Deeply" is now the first one sided single to last a year in the Billboard Hot 100 charts! WOOHOO!!!

In webpage updates: I know some of you are probably really PO'ed at me for not posting your concert reviews but like hey! I didn't have the chance! I will get them up within a week. Keep checking here for updates and PLEASE keep sending me concert reviews and pictures! I will update it I swear!!!

I won an award!! I am officially not a teenybopper! Thank you Justine! Check out her kick ass webpage: The Disco Inside Your Head!

Also there is a very cool new SG fan club! It is called the Savage Garden Online Fan Association! It is run by my favorite obsessive groupie chica Mary! JOIN or we will call you ignorant! LOL

I am always interested in making new sections to my webpage! If you have any ideas or if there is something you are DYING to see please email me @ [email protected]!

October 18, 1998
Hello all my webpage visitors! Your lovely webmistress Kristie has been away for a long time! Ok I was kinda lazy so i haven't updated my page in awhile. I had some legitimate reasons: I was computer-less since the day before the Boston SG concert because I left my home in California to go back to the East Coast like I do every fall. Anyway, UPS lost my stupid computer but it's back and I am here to update you on all the good stuff that's happened since my last update. As for some personal stuff, I attended the Boston and New York City Savage Garden concerts and I met a couple of people who have visited my site, thanks for the compliments!

In webpage updates: The Links page has been updated!

Please keep sending in your concert reviews as I would love to have them.

In tour news: IT'S OVER! *sob* This sounds kind of pathetic but I uhm had tears in my eyes during "Mine" and "Truly Madly Deeply" at the New York concert because "Mine" is such a powerful song that I love so much and well "Truly" meant the end of the show... my last show... The last show was in Kentucky, I will be getting pictures of it and a review.

Also Darren submitted his final update from the road to the Sony site, and it is a tear jerker. It is very sad and emotional, but I love what he said about closing the book on this part of his life and starting a new one, I personally can't wait to hear the next album, from what I hear it is going to be WAY different from this one, and from what I picked up from their attitudes by hearing and reading what they've said I believe it.

In merchandise news: The Savage Garden video collection has hit stores!!!  All you lucky people will be treated to the videos for I Want You, To The Moon & Back, Truly Madly Deeply, Break Me Shake Me, and Tears of Pearls. I have the video and I have to tell you it is a definite MUST HAVE for all SG fans! If you want one and don't know where to get it you can order one right here and now from CD NOW! Just click this link to get directly to all of CD NOW's Savage Garden merchandise!

Ok I was wrong, so sue me. The one freaking time I get lazy and don't check facts on an email I get and look what happens! LOL The UK TTMAB does not have a CD like the one I had up, it does have the cover however, and it comes with a poster of the album cover inside. It's track listing is as follows:

TO THE MOON AND BACK (RADIO EDIT)

TO THE MOON AND BACK (ALMIGHTY FIRED UP MIX)

TO THE MOON AND BACK (ALMIGHTY DEFINITIVE MIX)
There is also a second version of the UK TTMAB available! Here is it's track listing:

TO THE MOON AND BACK (ALBUM VERSION)

TO THE MOON AND BACK (ALMIGHTY RADIO E DIT)

TRULY MADLY DEEPLY (KARAOKE VERSION)
The Japanese "Break Me Shake Me" single is also available for purchase on the web now! Scroll down for cover and track listing!

You can get these at CD Now

In chart news: On the Billboard charts: "Truly" is at #29 and the album is at #65 *choke*... Don't even ASK about TTMAB or else I might be forced to repeat all those profanities I said about Billboard... Uh hey here's a suggestion... Buy everyone a SG CD for Christmas because dammit we can't let it fall off the charts too soon. It is almost at record breaking status!

So that's it for now, I will update this page again soon!

August 19, 1998
In television news: The guys were on MTV's (or as I like to call them, Empty Vee) FANatic yesterday. It was a day earlier than previously advertised.

Pop-up Video on VH1 was not shown, this is the second time they didn't show "Truly Madly deeply" when they were supposed to. I have a theory about this, of course I am probably wrong, but I know you are all DYING to hear it. I think all the angry letters fans wrote after the first time it was aired made VH1 pull that episode. Which in a way is good, we don't want rumors being spread about a band we care about, especially on national television.

HardRock Live will air on VH1 this friday, and yes this IS confirmed, it even says so on VH1.com after all this confusion. This is a must to see and tape! It's probably the closest thing to real concert footage we are gonna get. I for one am kicking my cable company because we don't get VH1 past 4pm. Sucks to be me.

In tour news: The band is off until August 20th, where they play Lewisburg, West Virginia.

Darren updated the Sony site the other day. Check it out!

In merchandise news: The "To The Moon & Back" single that I reported about in here last week (scroll down for picture and track listing) is actually now available in the UK! It comes with a bonus poster as well, so start making pals over in England to get this one because it is not available on the web yet! There is no word on if this will be available in the US as well, but Billboard online is reporting that Savage Garden have no intention of re-releasing the CD, like they did in England. Go figure.

In webpage news: PLEASE send me concert reviews and pictures! So far I have the biggest collection on the web that I know of, but I would like to add more so that every fan can just make one stop and find everything they need.

August 14, 1998:
Ok people, sorry I haven't updated my news in such a long time. I am really busy these days. I was taking a summer school class in English at San Jose State University because it is easy and only six weeks long as opposed to the hard as hell semester long ones at my regular uni, Yale. I also have a lovely job at Macy's where I sell women's shoes. No Al Bundy cracks or I will smack you.

In webpage updates: Yes! It's true! I have finally added a lot of new stuff to my page! I have added all of my exclusive concert pictures taken front row at the Warfield in San Francisco! Have a laugh at Darren grabbing himself for all he's got! heehee Also enjoy those arms! Man! Darren should make a work out video now! *snicker* *winks at Darren* And I have lots of other good shots of Daniel, however not as many as I would have liked because the roll that I took of mainly Daniel came out really dark so I am not adding them quite yet. I am trying to fix up the ones that I can and will try to put them up soon. I also have pictures from the Greek Theater in Los Angeles featuring me and one of my best online buds, Laura and members of the Savage Garden backing band. I am the dark haired girl and Laura is the sexy red head who is currently being sought after by a member of Silver Jet. *runs and hides* Don't kill me for telling Laura!!!

Oh yes, I have added a ton more concert reviews, no mine aren't up yet because my English class has me writing enough these days and I am tired. I will get it up soon! I swear! for now just enjoy my pictures...

I have also added three new articles in the Text Articles section of the Interviews page. The newest items are at the very bottom. There is some insight about the second album, so read them!

In chart news: In the Billboard charts this week, To The Moon & Back has done it again by breaking it's previous record and rising to #25! I hope this one goes all the way to #1 too! Truly Madly Deeply is one space above it at  #24,  and Savage Garden is at #21

In tour news: Well the guys have played 29 dates so far, their next show is in Sedalia, Missouri tonight. Have fun Kimala and Lauren! Tell Karl... uhh wait don't tell him anything you may make me sound psycho! LMAO j/k!  I must say, the show is well worth it, I have seen it twice myself, well 3 times if you count the webcast, and plan on going two more times. They know how to put on a good show. I just have one favor to ask you guys! Don't be afraid to have fun! Scream, yell, stand, dance through the whole thing! I know you will want to, even if no one else is, stand up and show the guys that YOU support them!

Oh yes, amazing of amazing, Darren has updated the official Savage Garden site run by it's US distributor, Columbia Records. You guys know it more commonly as the Sony SG site. well to get directly to the messages from the road and a few really good pictures (I'm still waiting for a picture of Darren at the Red Rocks show with a white flag, waving it around pretending to be Bono during a cover, which I know had to have happened no matter what anyone tells me because this is Darren we are talking about, of Sunday Bloody Sunday). To read the messages you can click right here!

In merchandise news: Yes I know you are waiting patiently to see how you can spend your hard earned money now. Ok here's the dish in upcoming CDs by Savage Garden:
Break Me Shake Me is out in Japan! Unfortunately there is no word on how to go about getting it unless you are in Japan. As soon as I find an online store selling it I will let you all know! Here is the cover! The track listing is: "Break Me Shake Me", "Tears Of Pearls" (Tears Of The Dancefloor Mix),  "Carry On Dancing" (Ultra Violet Mix), "To The Moon & Back" (acoustic version) , " Break Me Shake Me" (Broken Mix)

Ok I know you are all also thrilled about the re-release of To The Moon & Back. Here is what the CD and the cover will look like. No word on when this will hit stores either. Remember, as soon as I know, you all will know! For know enjoy the pictures and start saving your money so you can buy the ten copies that I know every single one of you are going to buy. Yeah I do the trading thing too, no shame in going in and buying 10 copies of the same CD. Track listing: TTMAB (radio edit), Santa Monica, Memories Are Designed to Fade, TTMAB (album version)

July 2, 1998:
In chart news: Savage Garden's "To The Moon & Back" re-entered the Billboard charts this week! It's re-release debuted at #46!! It had peaked during it's original release at #37! It looks like it is well on it's way to beating that record! To The Moon & Back was also the #1 most added song to Top 40 radio, with over 85 stations playing it!

Truly Madly Deeply stays constant at #14 on the Billboard Top 200 Charts, while the self-titled album slips one space to # 20. Let's hope the new tour and single can bring those #s up again!!

In tour news: The 'To The Moon & Back' tour makes it way to Edmonton, Canada tonight and on to Calgary, Canada tomorrow! Please email me your reviews!!

In website updates: I have added a new section to the webpage! It is concert reviews! So far there are o nly 3 reviews up at the moment, but expect more coming soon! Including 3 more from yours truly :o) from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Coming next week for sure are reviews from Vancouver and Portland! Keep visiting to get all the goss on the tour!

I am looking to add a new section to this site, but am having a bit of trouble coming up with something I know you guys really want to read! Email me your ideas or leave them in the Guestbook along with your name and email address! I will pick a winner from the entries I get and that person will win a copy of the new To The Moon & Back single as soon as it is released!

This episode of Hard Rock Live will air July 17, this is confirmed by VH1.

Also, the new To The Moon & Back video is now on rotation on VH1, yours truly managed to see it and tape it. It is very awesome. My guess is the nest time to catch it for sure would be on Premiere Videos on VH1 which airs this Friday at am. Check it out!

In merchandise news: Savage Garden is in the newest issue of YM magazine. It has Natalie Imbruglia on the cover.

June 22, 1998:

In merchandise news: CD NOW is having a special! If you buy from the link on my main page you can get $10 off any purchase of $20 or more. This would be a good time to get all those imports you have been saving for! Here is a short description of all the coolest and latest SG merchandise on the market:

The Video collections tape: A VHS videotape in NTSC format (US format for those of you not in the know,), sorry Aussies, maybe you can convert it! This tape is an import from Japan. What is on it: a 40 minute collection of all the released music video clips AND a few videos for unreleased and soon to be released songs!!! This is exclusive information given to me by a friend in Japan! You heard it here first!

The Japanese Truly Madly Deeply single: This is actually more like an album, but they call it a single. It is 14 tracks of rare B-sides, remixes, and live versions of songs. It comes with a 16 page color booklet with some promotional shots and some concert pictures. You can see scans of them on my picture gallery that I share with Empathalia. It also comes wi th a sticker. Here is the track listing:

The Official Savage Garden Future of Earthly Delites concert t-shirt: It is a black t-shirt with a colorful cityscape on both sides. The front has a big pink dragon on it. Both sides have the Savage Garden logo, and the back has the concert dates for Australia. Personally, I have never worn mine, which I got straight from OZ (thanks Robyn!) because I think the dragon is kinda tacky, but hey, it's an SG shirt so who cares? If you order it from CD NOW there are only X-Large size left.
