songs with tim erisman

i met tim through the internet (we've never actually met in person!), and we've been writing songs together for a few months now. usually, he sends me a lyric, we bounce some lyric revisions back and forth for a while, and then i go to work on the music. tim has also come up with some melodies of his own, so some of our songs wind up with two or three versions...

tim has his own songs page as well. in addition to links to most of these songs, he has a couple "vocal only" tracks of his own melodies for some of these songs, too.

the songs

where did we go wrong

our first collaboration; there were actually three versions of this song - a fast version with my melody, a slow version with my melody, and a slow version with a melody tim came up with. this is my "fast" version, which seems to be our collective favorite so far.

i still feel you near

tim came up with the original lyric; i made a bunch of suggestions, some of which he used, and then he did the tune. i listened to his vocal-only track and put together a "full band" version. gotta get back and re-do these vocals one day...

these walls you've built

tim sent me the lyrics and i did the tune. there are a couple lyrical lines we haven't completely agreed on yet...

the storm

a rough pre-mix; tim's lyrics and my music. needs to be polished up and remixed; i put this version up just so tim could hear the song.

letters from the past

another rough pre-mix, with tim's lyrics and my music.

one step at a time

another rough pre-mix, with tim's lyrics and my music. tim had suggested an upbeat country thing; i came up with a moderate tempo country/pop melody. tim has a vocal-only version of his own melody online that i need to give a listen to; i may wind up putting together a demo of his version of the song, too...
