Part 10
Part 10
"Krys.. Come back and stay with me." A.J said more of in a statement
instead of a question.
"During the day I'm not there...so...what if Jennie comes along? Then
you won't feel so uncomfortable," he said looking her in the eyes.
'Am I ready for this?' she asked herself. 'What do I have to loose
anyways?' she said nodding her head to A.J. As he saw her agreeing with
him, he swept her up in his arms.
"You won't regret Krys... trust me." Krystle sighed in his arms. Last
time she put her trust in him, he left her. 'I have no where else to
go. Maybe this is right' she said to herself again. Soon after A.J
pulled apart from her and made a few phone calls. He came back to meet
her in the kitchen having some coffee. Her hands were still shaking
because she wanted her pills, but she knew that she had to put it behind
her.
"Jennie is going to meet us up at my house in an hour." He said holding
her suitcase.
"So... I guess we should be going then?" Krystle said refilling her
cup. Her hands began to shake so much that the mug fell to the floor
and broke.
"Shit... so stupid.." she said trying to clean it up. A.J came over
with a rag to wipe it up.
"Krys... First thing you gotta do is just stop putting yourself down...
Don't say those things anymore...okay... you got to do that for me
okay?" he said putting his hands on the floor next to her. Krystle's
eyes began to water. She got up quickly so A.J couldn't see.
"I'll get our coats," she said leaving the room. She stood in front the
door and waited for him. When he got there, he took the keys off the
small table and walked out. Krystle took one last look at the house.
Breathing in the air that once was filled with the love of her family.
"Can you give me a second A.J?" she asked,
"Sure." He said walking out leaving the keys swinging in the door. She
walked slowly into the den. Looking around she saw a picture in its
frame. Walking over to it, she picked it up and smiled. The picture of
her parents that she usually failed to see was held tight in her hands.
As she looked at it carefully and delicately, her tears dropped and
formed many tears as they splashed onto the glass that covered it.
"I love you," she said, sweeping her hands across the glass. Without
letting go of the picture, she turned and headed for the door. As she
got into the car, A.J noticed her crying,
"Are you okay Krys?" he asked as he brushed her cheek.
"I'm fine... let's just get out of here," her hands clasping to the
sides of the frame. Quickly A.J backed out of her driveway and headed
for what would be the start of a new life.
~ 30 minutes later ~
"We're here Krys," he said waking her from her sleep. Slowly she got
out of the car. She could see Jennie waiting at the top of the stairs
for her.
"Hey Krys. How you feeling Hun?" she asked as she hugged her,
"Oh... I'm fine... Thanks for coming." Krystle said returning the hug.
"Well ladies," A.J started as he opened the door, "what do you say we
have a get together tonight. You know... The other guys and us three.
What do ya say?" he said with a smile.
"Oh that sound great," Krystle said putting down her suitcase, "I
haven't seen them since... I haven't seen them since you left..." she
went silent.
"Let's do it then," Jennie said hoping to smallen the gap of silence.
A.J walked over to the phone and made a few phone calls. When he came
back he asked, "So which one of you know how to cook?" he was shocked by
their facial expressions,
"Me cook... Ya right!" Jennie said. A.J looked at Krystle,
"And you?" he asked,
"Oh. No no no no, remember that time that I cooked and it ended up..."
A.J laughed,
"Ya Krys, I remember..."
"Let's just order when they get here okay?" Jennie said heading upstairs
to her room.
~ 1 hour later ~
They were all sitting the den when the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Krystle said jumping out of her seat. For the past hour
A.J had watched her every move and it was starting to bother her.
"Oh my God... Krys... I haven't seen you in so long!" Brian said
scooping her up into a big bear hug.
"Hi Krys," Nick said walking in. "Do you still remember?" he asked her,
"Oh of course I do," she said smiling. They did their trademark
handshake as he walked into the house.
"Oh..You're still the same cool chick!" nick said kissing her forehead.
He walked passed her to find A.J.
"Hey Krys. How you feeling?" Howie asked. Krystle assumed that they
knew why she was there.
"I'm feeling a lot better," she said with a warm smile. He walked past
her and joined the others in the den. Kevin was last to walk in. "Hey
Krys," he said kissing her on the cheek.
"I missed you girl... So who's here with you?" he asked looking over
her,
"It's just me, A.J and Jennie,"
"Jennie's here?" he said with wide eyes,
Jennie and Kevin had started seeing each other a while back but they
never built up on it. Instead they just moved apart. Krystle and Kevin
walked in unison towards the den.
"Hey everyone... Jennie," Kevin said looking right at her.
"Kevin... You haven't changed a bit," she said pulling him in for a
hug. One sniff of her perfume, and Kevin was back to the feelings he
once had. The question was... how does Jennie feel? Krystle sat
quietly while everyone chatted. For once in a long time she was
actually having a good time. For once she felt wanted. For once she
felt love. A smile came across her face as she watched her friends talk
and laugh. A.J looked up at her and smiled back. While the others
talked, A.J and Krystle continued to stare at each other. For some
reason, they just couldn't pull apart from each other's eyes. And
neither of them were willing to pull apart either....
