Part 19
Krystle cried out as she saw A.J sprung out on the floor. Blood was everywhere. Her body froze as she saw it. Her mind drew blanks. Flashbacks of her parent's death, rummaged around in her head. She felt weak. From a distance she could here cop cars coming down the street. Mike and the other guy tried their best to escape. Kevin caught one of them downstairs as the other attempted to run out. Fortunately, a police officer had caught him. "No... A.J... Please" her tears fell as she watched him hurtfully open his eyes. Her tears ran down her cheek and splashed onto his shirt. She bit her lip hard to hold back the tears, but they came freely, "GOD.... NNNOOOOOOO.... AJJJJJJJJ!!" she yelled. A.J looked into her eyes as tears fell from his also. "A.J... You... you can't leave me... you promised... Not now... I need you A.J!! Please!!!" she was gripping hard to her shirt. She reached for his hands. They were so cold. Finally he said something, "Krys... I love you... And.." he took a long breath, "I promise you that I'll never stop... I love you," he said again closing his eyes. "NNNNOOOOOOO!!" she yelled. She opened her eyes again. Just as she went to touch his face, paramedics brushed her aside. "I'm sorry dear, but we need to get him to a hospital." A lady said putting her hand on Krystle's shoulder. "Don't let him die... please... he's all I have left... and I didn't get to say goodbye...please" she knelt down on the floor near A.J just before he was taken away on the stretcher, "I love you baby!" she said. Soon after Kevin and Jennie ran in. Jennie pulled Krystle in for a deep hug, "Oh God Krys... thank God your ok!" she said. Krystle couldn't hear here. She starred at the door as she cried. Kevin walked over to the ambulance and asked the paramedics some questions, "Is he going to be ok?" his eyes filled with fear. "We don't know yet sir... we're really sorry. We're doing the best we can." He said before taking the passenger seat in the ambulance. Kevin walked back into A.J's room. Krystle continued to stare at the door. "Krys..." Kevin started. She just nodded her head; "You can ride with the ambulance if you like." Without a word being said, she got up and headed down there. From the corner of her eye, she could see Mike glancing at her in the cop car. She cried harder as she passed him. Finally she made it to the ambulance. As she got into it, she immediately took A.J's hand. It felt cold and weak. Her tears fell. "Please.... A.J don't leave me," She said as she bowed her head and cried...

~ One Hour later ~

A.J had to be brought into surgery to remove the bullet that was lodged in his chest. "We'll try our best Ms. Ross," the doctor said before going in for the surgery. "Can I see him first?" she asked. The doctor nodded yes. Everyone else had gone in before Krystle. She wanted to be last. One by one they came out with tears in their eyes. Krystle walked slowly to the door. As she turned it open, she could see A.J lying there almost lifeless. The tears rolled down her eyes. As she got closer to him, she could hear his heavy breathing. His eyes opened but shut again. "A.J... A.J baby... listen to me," she said taking a breath, "I love you... More then you know...No matter what... I love you," she broke down and began to cry at his bedside. A few minutes later, the doctor came in, "I'm sorry miss. But we have to get him into surgery now." The man said checking over a sheet. Krystle nodded her head; slowly she let go of her grip on A.J and walked towards the door. It was virtually the hardest thing she had ever had to do. Just as she reached the door she heard A.J speak, "I love you to baby." He said. Krystle turned and looked at him. Without saying a word she walked back to the others.

~ 1 and 20 minutes later ~

"Krys... are you okay?" Nick said taking her hand. She didn't say anything. She starred at the floor and concentrated hard so she wouldn't cry in front of them. She heard footsteps coming form the other end of the hallway. "Miss. Ross..." a woman said. Krystle looked up at her, "Yes!" she said still not standing up. Her heart raced, as she was about to hear what would change her life forever.
