Part 2
"What the hell is going on here?" Krystle said aloud, as she felt the
strong lights on her eyes. She fluttered them open to see a bright
light in her face. She tried to turn on her back, but she couldn't.
Her hands and feet had been tied down to the bed.
"Where am I?" she said in a faint voice.
"The hospital!" came another voice. Krystle opened her eyes slightly to
see a figure she knew so well. It was A.J. "What are you doing here?"
she yelled at him. He looked at her with puzzling eyes.
"Are you trying to kill yourself Krys. Taking drugs. Do you want to
die or something?" A.J yelled back. Krystle's eyes spilled over in
tears.
"I... I... What do you care?" she said as she cried. The tears
trickled down the side of her face.
"You're the one who left me!" she said faintly. A.J almost didn't hear
it, but he did. He didn't say anything after that. He just starred at
her. Krystle lay there silently as she forced her head to the opposite
side of A.J.
"LET ME OUT OF HERE!" she yelled at the top of her lungs. She cried
more as she felt the pain in her head from her fall last night.
"I just want to go home." She said softly, still not looking at A.J.
"You can't... I put you here for treatment. Until you get well." A.J
said walking to the side that Krystle was faced in.
"WHAT... You did this to me... what have I done that was so wrong...
I can't believe you.... I hate.... LET ME OUT NOW" she yelled trying to
change the subject. Fiercely she tugged her arm and legs at the clasps
that were holding her down. She cried harder at the pain she felt on
her wrists.
"Why do you want to care for me now...huh? You leave me... You never
call... You weren't there for me when my parents...." she trailed off.
Her tears were coming down fast. A.J took off his glasses and starred
at her.
"How'd you expect...." he started,
"You could have called A.J... You could have..." she shut her eyes and
shook as she cried. "Why don't you love me anymore. It was so good.
You just left me..."
A.J just stood without any words to say. He watched her cry for many
hours. He didn't know whether to go and hold her or just leave.
Krystle began to feel uncomfortable with him around. When she used to
cry, he would hold her and tell her everything would be okay. Now he
just watched her. 'What am I...Some pity case' she thought to herself.
"You know what," she stared, "Just get out... Just leave me here all
right...Don't visit... Don't write. Don't call...Just go back to the
way it was before okay?" She turned again so that he couldn't see her
crying. She didn't want him to leave, but she didn't want him to see
her that way. Slowly, he walked out of the room. He met up with their
friend Jennie, who was sitting nervously with a cup of coffee.
"Is she okay?" she asked A.J in a shaky voice.
"She won't talk to me," A.J said in a hurt voice.
"I don't blame her A.J. I really don't" Jennie said defending her.
"What.. Now your mad at me?" he pushed back. Jennie was one of his
friends also.
"You left her A.J. You broke it off without a reason. You left her
alone. Geez, when her parents..." she lowered her voice, "you didn't
even show up for the funeral!" Jennie said in a low voice.
"I... I just didn't know how to handle it... I know I left her.. But I
had no choice... Long distance rel....." he was cut off.
"A.J... Stop thinking about yourself for once." Jennie said.
A.J turned around to look at Krystle through the window. She was still
crying. 'Do I love her or what? I am so confused' A.J said in his
mind. He looked at her for hours, she cried all day and refused for him
to come in again to talk to her.
