In Memory of Frank Frost

The ole harp

(The ole harp is silent now, it's a sound we’ll hear no more )

He was called the king of the harp in the Delta region where I was born. His name was Frank Frost one of the greatest men I have ever met. He traveled the blues highway for many years giving his fans all he could. He played the local clubs

and festivals for years . For those who never met him don’t realize what they have missed.

He has played with many bands both locally and abroad he was also a member and founder of the Jelly roll Kings. He recorded  at the famous sun studio in Memphis Tn where  Elvis  and other great performers started out.

I met Frank about 9 years ago at a festival and the sounds from his harp would set my soul at ease. I once asked him "Frank why don’t you retire from the blues" and his answer was soft and sweet "Son I have played em to long to stop now".

The sounds from his harp are silent now but I bet if there is a blues band in the next world Frank’s there playing his harp with the other great legends that have gone on before

I write this in Memory of

Frank Frost
