KoRn Tabs

Song: Blind

Album: KORN

There are many different interpretations of this song, so I've listed

five tabs from different sources.

Notes: This version is transcribed for a 7-string. The best way to

play this is to tune the guitar down 5 steps (ADGCEA) and move any

fret on the "F" string down 1 fret. This is the way I play it

(7-strings are hard to find and expensive).

I think this one is easy once you get the riffs down. I didn't have time

to tab out all the funky noise Munkey plays, so this is not "complete"--

but really, how many of you have whammy pedals and a rack of effects?

Check out the Korn page at Sony or use the Net Search for "Korn".

Also check Munkey and Brian "Head" in the December issue of Guitar World

(they're in the first section--I think it's called Tune-ups).

More to KoRn to come as well as some Deftones (similar to KoRn) when

classes end.

=================================================

Note: This song is pretty simple-it's just a matter of getting the rhythm

down. The lyrics were pretty hard to figure out esp. in verse2, so be

thankful I have decent hearing. For other Korn songs(if you want to

transcribe them yourselves), they use 7strings tuned to (ADGCFad) and use

the diagonal chord structure a lot (like the 13-14-15-16 chord). And a

personal note to that person who has the second entry in Blind.tab:

It ain't cool dissin' people 'cause you think your transcription is

right--next time just enter it without the rude comments.

Note: If you haven't noticed, Brian and Munkey use Ibanez seven string

guitars, tuned down a full step, to play the songs on the album.

The letters on the side (ADGCFad) are the open string notes. The lower

case letters are the two (skinniest) highest strings. I only tab part of

the tab lines because it saves time and paper when you print this out, so

use the info above to figure out which lines they are. I encourage you to

check out their home page at the Sony site(you can also find it through

Yahoo).

This is an easy song to play--no troubles here. The vocals have some

question to them. Listen for yourselves--that's only what I could hear.

For Riff 3 and Riff 5- the 1-3-3 chords are hard to distinguish. It may

be that they are pressing hard on the floating bridges which makes them

go sharp.

This song can be played on a "baritone" guitar (ADGCea)--

I'm not certain about Riff 4, if it has any arpegio on the 12 note after

the "Look at you, all I see..." part. I figured that since it doesn't

have it during the "Be yourself let you come through..." part, that the

first wouldn't either.

Listen to the album for the last riff-it's hard to show rests on the

computer.

The (let it/ever) thing is cuz he does both of them, the "And we with at

you, we with it" part I got from another guy, Daniel Christal, who

transcribed all the lyrics for the album. I don't want to advertise his

email address without his consent, so email me if you want the whole lyrics.

Lies--Korn

I'm too lazy to put in the blank lines (strings). For all those who

don't have 7 strings or tune down that low, play the 5th chords on the D

and G strings (ie. 55\44-44\33 etc.)--it shoud sound the same. Those who

don't tune down at all (EADGBE) play the frets on the A string on your E

and A strings with the 5th chords. For the lead parts, move the notes

two frets down.

Intro

G--6\5-5\4-4\3-3---3/4-4\3-3\2-2-2--

D--6\5-5\4-4\3-3---3/4-4\3-3\2-2-2--

Main riff

G--2/5-5\4-4\3-3---3/4-4\3-3\2-2-2--

D--2/5-5\4-4\3-3---3/4-4\3-3\2-2-2--

C-----------4-------------3---- I think these are doubled an

G--6-6-6-5-------5-5-5-4------- octave up. This is C#-C-B

D--6-6-6-5-------5-5-5-4------- barre chords(actual notes)

A--4-4-4-3-------3-3-3-2-------

other riff

G--2-x--2-2-x----

D--2-x--2-2-x---- x = rest(stop strings from ringing out)

**Lead part over "other riff" just slides up from the 7th fret on the D

string, but I think he uses a whammy pedal for that.

Note: Hey people, most of the time I spend transcribing these songs go

into transcribing the lyrics (as well as wasting precious study time)--so be

grateful--plus all these songs revolve around the lyrics anyway to accent

the vocals. So if the lyrics sound lame or have a bunch of question marks,

that's because I get tired of listening to the same one or two seconds of

the album, and I just fidget what I think I heard.

Send me positive email!

I'll end my transcription here since the remainder of the song is Jonathan

Davis crying and adlib guitar. If anyone wants me to transcribe that part

too, email me ([email protected]). As for the rest of the song, the riffs

are easy and could be played on a guitar tuned ADGCea.
