Ryoko Hirosue is a top star. That is clear
at the time of 1998. All the television dramas that she appears on always
get high audience ratings. Her song is a great hit, getting 1st of the
hit charts. And she was qualified for the annual "Kohaku Utagassen", that
is an honor for Japanese singers. The most obvious sign of her popularity
is the overwhelming support to her photogravures. Her expressions and movements
warm the heart of anybody and encourage everybody. Why does she attract
us so much? We believe this book has some keys to clear up the source of
her charm. We covered her movements closely for 500 days from the end of
1996 to 1998, and took as many as 50,000 photographs.
"No

It
was the distance between her and us that we paid close attention to, when
we took photographs of her. We always tried to find a place not to make
her notice us. We made efforts to keep a 'proper' distance, neither
too close nor too far, In other words, we were there as the representative
of her fan, and our viewpoint was that of "the observer." So "No
Make" is a record by the "fixed point observation"
for 500 days. It is full oh her unconscious expression. How will it change
your image of her? We think you can enjoy it. And if the image never changes,
she is undoubtedly "natural" anytime and anywhere, because we never set
the standards such as excluding some of her expressions. So we are pleased

We
can not deny, however, that the distance between her and us has become
shorter since she noticed us, though we tried to keep the viewpoint. At
first we were covered with confusion by the change, but the process was
so natural. Neither we intended to nor took special steps for it. That
was for her great nature; she becomes close to anybody. This book shows
you will become friendly with her if only you spend your time with her
