A nomadic childhood full of adventure has given Mel Garside a unique palette from which to paint

She first spread her wings with Tabitha Zo, creating a sense of purpose in a non-sensicle time. Flushed with live success, a new line up and a signing to Echo in early 1994 as "Zu", Mel's debut album "Fossil" was a long time coming.

Various collaborations and evolutions followed, culminating in a collection of songs tinted with memories, experiences, light and dark shades.

A little box filled to the brim, it took her to Japan, South East Asia and the prime cities of Europe. After three years of travel and promotion, Mel finally closed the lid, allowing a new collection of songs to come through.

She has always written and performed with her own unique sense of style and beauty, and has now metamorphasised into "lynxy"
A cocktail of dark spirituality and razor edged delicacy, Lynxy moves through a world inhabited by Moorish knights, passionate loves and watchful ghosts. A series of dawns and twighlights, it represents a stripping back of perceptions, lighting the way to the present. Past fears are no longer barriers but instead are gossamer film, to move through in the search for personal empowerment. All walls are shattered with the beauty of music, and Mel can now spread her wings once more, reflecting the light and shadow of a changing world........
