Well spring was here for a while but then it decided to snow about a foot,
which put a damper on things (Picture of my
yard covered in snow is shown below). I did get a chance to go to the
Washington Flower Show this past weekend so I
did get somewhat of a gardening fix.
Although there was alot of snow on the ground, the flowers that
had bloomed a few days
beforehand, managed to survive :). Here are some pictures of the crocuses
and the lone
blooming daffodil in my yard. The snow is now gone so I can start focusing
on spring
gardening.
This was held in the Washington Convention Center and I was able
to make it there on Saturday. Many of the exhibits focused on Japanese
and water gardening which is something I'm particularly interested in and
want
to encorporate into my own gardens. Here are some pictures of
the exhibits that gave me some ideas. Since it
was such a nice day (on Saturday) I decided to walk down to the Mall
and wander around. One thing I discovered
was the US Botanical Garden, located near the US Capitol, which was
unfortunately closed for renovation. Here
are some pictures from my day's activity. Enjoy
