Celine's "My Heart Will Go On" was nominated for a
Golden Globe Award for Best Song, from the movie
"Titanic."
Celine described her new album as "a dream of a
lifetime" on E! News today, December 28th.
Celine speaks of her reaction to "Titanic" at
CelineOnline.com.
Several commercials have been made regarding Celine's new album.
Blockbuster Music shows Celine singing "My Heart Will
Go On," and Best Buy, the successful chain of electronic
stores, shows a man who has been walking for quite some time in
the
snow to get to a music store so that he might buy the album. He
enters the store shivering, and in a quaking voice asks the man
at the counter if he has the Celine Dion CD. The clerk replies
with a very straight-faced "no," and then the
commercial says
that Best Buy has the CD. **Special thanks to Lindsay C. for this
info!!**
Here is some information I received via e-mail about Celine's
upcoming biographies.... On Julie Snyder's Le Poing J , they
announced the release date for the official Celine biography;
NOVEMBER 14 We were read 3 bits of the book. The first one
on how nervous she was when she did her first television
appearance in 1981. She was desperately looking for wood to touch
before she went on stage, she finally found some on the smoking
pipe of one of the other guest on the show she was
performing for the first time. The second bit was on Celine's
first encounter with alcohol. She went out for her musicians one
night, they suggested tequila....one glass came and went, then a
second...and a third. Her musicians told her she might want to
consider stopping but.... Miss Celine told them she never left
things half done! And she went on and on with her drinking. She
woke up the next day in terrific shape. She hasn't had a drink
since, except a glass of red wine here and there. The third and
last part read it is confirmed that Celine was deeply in love
with René at 17. Even when Eddy Marnay wrote the song
"C'est
pour toi", he knew how Celine loved her manager. The cover
of the book is the picture from the Lets Talk About Love cd. On
October 30 on Le poing J, there will be parts of the press
conference given by Celine earlier in the day. Also, on Salut
Bonjour starting monday, more bits of the book will be read every
morning In that third excerpt that was read yesterday, it
was mentioned that Celine was so in love with Rene that she
wanted to *give herself* to him a the age of l7 but, Rene
refused...he told her that he had to stay *wise* (sage). Celine
was afraid to lose him forever so she decided to stay wise also.
The cover of the book mentioned above features the picture from
Celine's new album, and the well-known Celine signature
logo. The book is 600 pages long!!!!
It is the official authorized biography of Celine by
Georges-Hebert Germain (Quebec journalist). The title is
"Celine" (677
pages - 40 pages of photos), and it will be in store in Quebec on
Nov. l4th. It is certain that it will be translated in English
and
in the US probably in a couple of months. The author said on TV
that we will discover a soul that we don't really know.
In Celine's recent press conference, she was asked about the
collaborations on her new CD and we learned that when the Bee
Geese recorded the song with Celine, Barry was crying. Also,
Celine and Rene were invited to dinner at Barbara's home and
Celine was so funny mimicking how star-struck she was all night
long. She said that she would love to be at Barbara's
wedding. She also said that working with Pavarotti was
incredible...that his voice is so powerful. She and Rene also
were
invited by Luciano to have dinner at his apartment. He cooked
some pasta for them. Apparently her favorite song of the album is
The reason with Carole King. All in all she said that this is a
dream album...the best of her life and she does not know if she
will be able to do better than that.

Celine will talk about 'Let's Talk About Love' on The Today Show on Wednesday, November 19, 1997. First, a little news about the site....As you probably noticed, the site has a new front page! The page uses Celine's favorite colors (red, white and black), and features more options. The other pages are currently being re-constructed so hang tight!! Celine Dion will talk about "LETS TALK ABOUT LOVE" on THE TODAY SHOW on Wednesday, November 19,1997... Now the exciting news...Celine's new album, titled "Let's Talk About Love" is due in stores November 18th, as reported by Sony Music. One single already released, "Tell Him" features Barbara Streisand, who Celine recently called her "idol." The original title of the CD was "The Reason," another song on the album made by Carole King, but Celine liked Bryan Adams'
"Let's Talk About Love" so much that she changed the name of the album. Distribution of Celine's "Tell Him" took place viasatellite broadcast at 9:00 p.m. EDT Tuesday (10/7), with simultaneous broadcast on a wide number of international stations planned.
The mass satellite reception and play of the song by Celine
and Barbara will be the first sampling of both Streisand's new
Columbia album "HIGHER GROUND" and Celine's 550 Music
album "LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE." The single will be
available for satellite down-link in North America via SATCOM C5,
transponder 19, DATS channel 10 and 11, while other satellites
will carry it to Europe, Australia, Japan and other parts of
Asia. Hailed as "two astonishing voices, one breath taking
single," "Tell Him" will also be broadcast
simultaneously via a worldwide internet broadcast. Computer users
with internet access will be able to hear but not download the
song. The single, which is four minutes and 12 seconds in length
will air six times in a row in both the satellite and internet
broadcast. To access the internet broadcast, computer users
should point their browsers to http://www.music.sony.com . In
addition to this unique worldwide audio feed of the new
recording, television
stations throughout the nation and around the world will also
receive a video satellite feed Tuesday morning of the e.p.k.
(electronic press kit), a reel of interviews and performance from
the recording session of the song featuring the first pairing of
the two singers. The cassette and CD single goes on sale Tuesday
November 4, while the Streisand album arrives in record stores
November 11, and Celine's album is set for release one week
later.
