Imogen sat down at an empty desk. About forty eyes watched her doing so. She wanted
to scream at them all, but she controlled her temper and tooka deep breath. One girl with shiny,
short brown hair and hazel eyes smiled warmly at her and Imogen smiled nervously back. Another girl
smiled aswe, but her eyes were icy and did not suit her gorgeous blonde curls and shining blue eyes.
Imogen shivered and put her attention to her work.
The teacher, Mrs Wilby, coughed to get the attention of her class. Everyone looked up and the teacher
shined with success.
"Good Morning class. Today we have a new member of our group." Imogen went red. She hated being noticed.
"Imogen, would you like to stand up?" Mrs Wilby asked.
No! Of course I don't. You're used to all these eyes staring at you, I hate it! Imogen stood up reluctantly
and walked up to the front of the class.
"Imogen, could you introduce yourself please?" Imogen swallowed.
"Well my name is Imogen Mehigae..." She began but she was interrupted by the pretty blonde girl raising her pencil.
"Um, excuse me, like, I know it's rude to interrupt but, what kind of name is Mehigae?" The girl looked around the room and
smiled, making sure everyone would aggree with her.
"Well?" Imogen asked, making her point that she wanted the girls name.
"Lisa Croyden." The girl said proudly.
"Well Lisa, my name is actually Irish." Imogen said.
"Irish? Are you from Ireland?" Imogen discovered that the voice came from the girl who'd smiled so nicely at her just before.
"My parents are but I'm actually from Tulsa, Oklahoma."
As soon as she said that the room went into loud disscussion. They finally settled down and a gil in the front row piped up.
"Have you met Hanson?" Imogen rolled her eyes.
"No I haven't."
"Oh." The girl said, obviously dissapointed.
"Have you ever seen them?" Another girl asked.
"Yeah I have, last year. Any more questions?" She said it quickly, hoping to get off her least favourite subject. No such luck.
"You have?!" A few girls screamed.
"Yeah I saw them at McDonald's." Imogen was getting annoyed.
Girls were asking questions from left right and centre, and they were all about Hanson.
"Now now, I'm sure you're all very excited but why don't you ask Imogen these questions later." Mrs Wilby finally spoke up.
Imogen sighed with relief and quickly sat back down. Little did she know this was only the beginning.
Imogen slammed the door of the hotel room.
"Imogen? How was school?" Came her mother's voice from the other ajoining room.
"I hate it. All the girls are bitches." Imoged screamed. "AS soon as I mention I'm from Tulsa all they care about is Hanson!".
"Imogen! We won't use that that language around here! And keep your voice down!"
"Sorry mum, it's just that I really want to go home." Imogen burst into tears.
"Honey, we all do, but we have to find a donor for your sister." Her mother said quietly.
Imogen didn't say anything. She walked into the room where her sister slept. She kissed her lightly on the forehead. Imogen went over to the mirror
and looked at her reflection.
Her thick dark hair framed her oval face. This hair brought out her green eyes. Her sister used to look like her but ever since she had been diagnosed
with leukemia she'd looked and acted differently.
Imogen sat down to write a letter to Yvonne.
Yvonne,
So far, California sucks. All people car about here is Hanson, so when I said I was from Tulsa I've been getting questions like, "Have you been to Rex's
Boneless Chicked with Hanson?" and crap like that. Anyway, how's Tulsa? I'd love to eb there right now. Aaah, I can't wait until we get outa here, but then again,
I'm dreading the day we do go back. I might not have a sister anymore. Talking about Adreanna she's still the same, not any better and we still haven't found a
donor yet!. Well write back ASAP,
