- 7:30 a.m. -- Breakfast buffet at the hotel
- 8:00 a.m. -- Check out of the hotel and depart for Richmond
- Lunch -- en route on your own
- 2:00 p.m. -- Arrive at the Dixie Classic Festival site; follow Festival schedule of performances
- evening -- Dinner at the Old Country Buffet
- 9:00 p.m. -- Awards ceremony
- afterwards -- Depart for Falls Church; check into the Doubletree Hotel at Tyson's Corner
Saturday, April 8, 2000
- 7:00 a.m. -- Breakfast buffet at the hotel
- 8:00 a.m. -- Depart for the Pavilion to meet the guides
- 8:30 a.m. -- Meet your guides (one guide per coach)
Begin your tour of Ford's Theater, Petersen House, and U.S. Capitol
- 12:30 p.m. -- End the tour at Union Station
- Lunch -- on your own
- 2:00 p.m. -- Group picture taken at 1st Street at the Reflecting Pool on the west side of the Capitol;
the picture, a panoramic view of the group with the Capitol in the Capitol in the background, is a souvenir for everyone
- 2:30 p.m. -- Visit the Smithsonian Museum of your choice.
You may choose from the many museums which line the Mall from 4th Street to 14th Street and include: the National Museum of
African Art, National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the Freer Gallery of Art, the
Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Gardens, and the Smithsonian Institution
- 5:30 p.m. -- Depart for Planet Hollywood
- 6:00 p.m. -- Dinner at Planet Hollywood
- 7:30 p.m. -- Meet the guide at the Pavilion to begin the Night Illuminated Tour of the monuments and memorials
(Jefferson Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, White House, Kennedy Center, et al.)

- 9:00 a.m. -- Depart for Mount Vernon
- 9:30 a.m. -- Self-guided tour of Mount Vernon
- 11:30 a.m. -- Depart for the Pentagon Mall
- Lunch -- on your own at the Mall
- 2:00 p.m. -- Marine Band Chamber Orchestra Performance at the National Academy of Sciences
- 4:00 p.m. -- End of concert; depart for the hotel to freshen up for the dinner cruise
- 6:30 p.m. -- Depart for the Pier
- 7:00 p.m. -- Board the Potomac Spirit
- 7:30 p.m. -- Ship departs for the Dinner Dance Cruise aboard the Spirit cruise ship
- 10:30 p.m. -- Cruise ends, return to the hotel

- 8:00 a.m. -- Check out of the hotel
- 8:15 a.m. -- Depart for Arlington Visitors' Center to meet the guides
- 8:30 a.m. -- Meet your guide; begin the tour of Arlington
Includes Arlington Mansion, the grave of President Kennedy, and the
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; participate in a wreath-laying ceremony if arranged by the director
- 11:30 a.m. -- End of tour; take the Metro to the Reagan Building
- 12:30 p.m. -- Lunch on your own in the Reagan Center
- 2:00 p.m. -- Tour the Air and Space Museum or any other Smithsonian Museum of your choice
- 5:00 p.m. -- Depart for dinner
- 6:30 p.m. -- Dinner to be announced
- 8:00 p.m. -- Depart for home, driving straight through with a driver relief
