DIRECTOR OF BANDS
GEORGE FARMER

George Edwin Farmer, Jr., 53, has been in charge of the award-winning Big Red Band since 1989, following a stint at Chamberlain High School. Mr. Farmer is a Tampa native and a member of the class of 1963 of King High School, where he also performed in the band. He attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., earning his B.A. and Masters degrees in Music Education. Mr. Farmer is happily married to his wife, Susan, and has a set of twins, Matt and Clare, both of whom are juniors at the Big Red.
