Platinum Luxury Imports
Our company, Platinum Luxury Imports, specializes in the sales and
leasing of imported automobiles from various companies such as BMW, Bentley,
Farrari, etc. The company will be based in the Toronto area because there
is not a strong market for our product in the London area.
Selling and leasing imported vehicles has two problems for the customer
and our company. Cost of importing and the high price customers would have
to pay. Also, repairs to these cars are difficult because these vehicles
are rare in Canada, and parts are expensive to import. We have developed
solutions to overcome these obstacles.
To break down the cost of purchasing an imported vehicle, we would
concentrate on selling previous models. We will import models from the past
five years from companies who failed to sell these models. Being older
models, they would be lower in cost, and sales could potentially increase
and we would develop a stronger customer base. Importing could also be less
costly to us, because we would import models from close regions, such as the
United States, who in turn orginally imported their vehicles from foreign
countres.
If a customer's car breaks down, they would have no knowledge of where
to bring it for repairs. We considered adding our own repair shop to our
main lication, but it would prove to be costly. So, instead, we searched
out various repair shops within the Toronto area who already specialize with
imports and have the available parts. We would send our customers to the
nearest repair shop for repairs.
Platinum Luxury Imports is a Partnership. We considered a Corporation,
but found our company would be cery small to begin with and we have all
agreed to share debt responsibility. In doing so, we felt that a
Partnership is the best company ownership structure for Platinum Luxury
Imports.
Our main goals for the first year of operation were discussed vigorously
amongst the group, and eventually we came to a final list of gials, which
reflect our main goal of expanding our business further every year:
- Being in Toronto, we want to obtain at least a 5% market share of
the luxury import industry, in Toronto, by the end of our first year.
- We want to build an alliance with surrounding import repair shops
so we can direct our customers to these locations of their vehicles break
down. These surrounding repair shops would give a 5-10% discount on repairs
to vehicles originally purchased from our store.
- A web site is an idea we all think will improve sales. Our
customers can search our database of available vehicles from home, place
them on hold, then come in to our store and purchase them within a month of
placing orders on hold through our web site. This is a goal we wish to
achieve after our first 8-10 months of operation.
- Our customers are our number one priority, and we want to give them
more for their money. We want to create a "Special Customer" service, where
we keep a record of all customers, and give them special deals on future
imports, or newer models if they decided to upgrade.
- If a customer chooses to lease an older model, they can upgrade to
the newer model, and immediately transfer their outstanding lease to the
newer model. This is our Upgrade Lease Program we wish to instantiate
within our first year.
