Tejano icon Flaco Jimenez’s new CD,
Squeeze Box King

Flaco Jimenez has always been a pioneer
in the world of Conjunto and Tejano music
with his incredible musicianship and unique stylings.
This being his first album in three years proves to be no different.
From the tri-lingual party polka “En El Cielo No Hay Cerveza/
In Heaven There Is No Beer” to the haunting bolero “Tan Sola,”
Flaco Jimenez delivers an album that touches on the various rhythms
and styles of Conjunto.

Flaco Jimenez is the best known of the talented Jimenez family of Tex-Mex accordionists. He has always been popular in the border region, and came to the attention of the wider pop-music-buying public with the help of roots-music enthusiast Ry Cooder. Since then Jimenez has
toured internationally, made guest appearances on a number of recordings, teamed up with
Doug Sahm and Freddy Fender in The Texas Tornados, and continued to record on small
labels for the Texas Norteno community. ~ Myles Boisen, All Music Guide
