My journal got too big so I moved it to this file.

.: my journal (and rants) :.

1.9.03 Yesterday I spent the day Dick Gail, one of my truly gifted friends -- he is an electronic drummer, remix artist, solo performer, basicaly a modern-day master of music. I gave him some tech support in exchange for his touching up some antiques and being able to pick his brain about electronica genres, which helped me sort it all out -- He says most events only want to hear one type of music, and that there's a sort of bitter rivalry between house, techno, trance, jungle, or whatever -- whoa?! that's hard for me to imagine, playing hours of JUST house or JUST downtempo for example.. Anyways, he has some great DnB performances up there in Sacto, as well some amazing Ambient stuff, and I look forward to doing some collaborations with him later. He invited me to NAMM this year so that will be so awesome. More bout that later..

1.2.03 Stats? Yeah I get these each month but don't post them. Someone wanted to know how much traffic I get, well this will give you an idea. The domain got about 3500 unique visitors last month, that may sound small until you see it's 51 Mb of 75,000 hits, which amazes me since I don't advertise my site! The average user hitting my page has about a 65k connection, the slowest was a 9600 baud modem, OMG I can't beleive those still exist! Maybe I'll write a little script to auto-post my stats and do something graphical with them.. I used to use VirtualWebTrends and Analog when I was working at Best Internet, but now that Best.Com is history (and I host my site on freeshell.org) things are a bit different ;)

1.1.03 Happy New Year to all (been waiting 2 months to say that!) Not much to report, been so busy with company visiting and doing the job search that I haven't had time to update the site.. EDD is finaly sending me checks again so there's hope for the world (albeit temporary!)

12.13.02 Ampcast site is back on-line, I renewed for a year so will try and post more tunes up. Will try and burn the older tunes to CD for people to purchase and give their system a go- is it better than MP3.COM? We shall see!

12.10.02 Was trying out BF1942 today, after installing the single-player and multi-player demos, along with the latest patch, the game just wouldn't work on my ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro, and I'm not about to swap Calvin's GeForce with my killer video capture, mpeg2 decoder, TV card just to play an Nvidia-biased game..

12.09.02 Winter isn't here yet but some nasty flu got me. I should have paid more attention to the warning signs and blasted it out before it got worse, well now it's worse.. but I hope it's going away soon. Calvin (who got it from Kristen) had it before me, and he feels fine now, so we'll see. Nothing else to report at the moment, hard drive is pretty much restored now so that's a good thing :)

12.04.02 Stupid moment number 120402: I accidently formatted my whole hard drive today. Yeh, DOH!! I did it when I inserted a Quantum OEM floppy that quickly formats a drive, I thought it would only hit the 1.2Gb I was giving to my buddy over at hotgirlz.net (Bryan), but NooooOOooo... it formatted THEM ALL!! What was I thinking? I think from now on I will make better backups of my precious data ;)

12.04.02 Webcam is online now, I don't care who is looking at me but be warned the content isn't moderated and the cam doesn't follow any sort of schedule, but go ahead and bitch and moan at me if you have any problems and I will try not to point and laugh at you.

11.27.02 Man, almost the end of the month already, is that crazy or what? I've been playing games on my Xbox so much that I think I'll put back the cheat codes section (like I had for the now defunct DigitalStuff store site, also at 2xtreme.Net if you remember my site back then?) A bunch of people have expressed interest in some of the older spiritual stuff (I should clarify, PAGAN and PSYCHIC stuff!) so I am digging through boxes of floppy disks to try and get that back on-line. Technology sure has changed since 1985 when the Castle BBS was online with it's message boards and text libraries, ANSI art and all.. I will see if I can convert most of that to HTML for people, and update the old Amiga IFF graphics to something like JPEG or PNG files.. Woot!

11.18.02 Been messing with webcam software, I may put one up fairly regularly, just need to tweak the script over on this side to serve the images better than using META REFRESH but for now, that's what it is.. Also got some job interviews lined up. We'll see..

11.10.02 Man, this modeling class is a trip, but more on that later.. I put the club photo pics back online, I really liked the quality of their prints. Go there to see some new pics from the motorcycle show me and my buddy Filip went to! It was a blast but I wish I had more time -- isn't that always the case with MC shows? :)

11.03.02 Today I started a creature sculpting class over at M5, I am going to make a 15 inch model of Iorek Byrneson as my project, this should be a lot of fun! Also been messing a bit more with poser. Check out some new content on the 3D art page, there's a new link for over 18 art for those that are interested ;)

10.14.02 Wow, fate can be strange sometimes. Today my contract assignment came to a sudden and unexpected end. I guess I am a bit shell-shocked. I feel that I always do the best and most ethical work possible, to earn my living honestly (is there a message between the lines there?) On the other hand, I guess I had a false sense of security going, when the reality showed me how temporary contract work can be. I know it's not my fault, and I suppose that's just the way some companies like to to business

10.5.02 Uploaded new art, this one is a preview that took over 7 hours to render in Bryce. I had to totaly tweak it to make it go that fast -- the original .br5 file was taking over 3 days to render, and kept crashing at about 60% complete. This was very frustrating, but taught me a valuable lesson about CPU and memory management in Windows XP (it kinda sux) :P The original scene used volumetric lighting and objects, which look totaly awesome, but take forever to render. Maybe it's time to move to a more robust program? With 127 objects and about 230,000 polys Bryce just starts to crap out. It's not the mountains or the circle of glass stonehenge thing, it's actually that little dude in the middle, he's an imported poser object that has been ungrouped. But enough of that. Go and see it for yourself. It's a nice looking scene but still needs some work, IMHO!

9.27.02 Ok, and I really have updated the site since July, just didn't seem to update my journal (my bad!) I often add 3D art to that area without adding any journal entries..

9.27.02 I just posted the entire 'Blender' albumn in streamable format on AcidPlanet, but for some reason it created a new account from Acid 4.. Maybe it was my fault, I really don't know, I should be sleeping now, it's like 3:00pm already! Anyway, hit the links button and you can stream the new songs.. Send me feedback, and please be brutally honest, these are all B-SIDES that never made it to other CD's (nuff said) Cheers!

7.29.02 Picked up this cool template at Open Source Web Design (oswd.org), thanks to krsna77 for sharing! I will eventually convert my whole site to this format! Sweet!

7.09.02 Great news! Finally landed a full-time job through Excell Data Corp, working for a NOC in Mountain View! I am pretty psyched not only for the job but also because I get to see a bunch of people I used to work with at Best.Com -- somehow they ended up there, small world, heh!

6.04.02 Two bits of good news to report. I am working part time IT for Cinemaware now, 3 days a week. Still looking for that full-time position -- who knows, maybe they'll want to keep me ;) Also, I finally got all of that horrid domain name stuff sorted out, I just transferred my domain to domainmonger.com, $17 registrar owned by Tucows. Yeah, that is a lot better than $35 a year, and I can manage all my own stuff without going through Verisign's hoops -- Hurray! :)

4.11.02 Still looking for work. I posted my first UT skin here. I was going to polish it up but response was nill so I just said f it.
