"Swingin' Through WWII" is brought to you by Utah State University's (B)Sunburst Singers(B) and Crestmark Productions.
* With this recording we pay tribute to those dedicated patriots who have served America nobly and admirably in our country's war efforts over the years. * The big-band favorites in the collection take us on a nostalgic journey back to the days of soldiers, sodas, and swing. We fell in love to these tunes. We said goodbye to loved ones. This was the music that made the difficulties of war just a little easier to endure, kept our toes tapping and our spirits high. * These songs and many others are featured at the production of (B)"The Sunburst Club,"(B) an event that features big-band music, swing dancing, dining, and exciting floorshow entertainment, all done in the context of the 1940s. The event has gained great popularity with its simulation of Captain Glenn Miller, done with the support of the Glenn Miller family.

The Glenn Miller Show
"An Evening with Glenn Miller" is a exciting floorshow extravaganza typically performed annually by the *Sunburst Club*.
* Each year involves a different theme that takes patrons back to the swing era. The night is made complete with delectable dining and non-stop dancing, not to mention the Broadway-style floorshow. This floorshow is complete with lavish costumes, impeccable choreography, and sensational singing that mesmerizes the audience. * Unfortunatley, the show will not be performed this year due to funding. We will be taking a one-year hiatis to build the funds to ensure the future of the show. But, look out for information about the grand return of Glenn Miller 2001: "Moonlight and Magic."

USU Jazz Choir and USU Talent Bureau
The USU Jazz Choir is co-sponsored by the Programs and Entertainment Office and the Music Department. They perform with the Jazz Ensemble and for various events on campus and around Cache Valley. Music credit is given and auditions are required. Emphasis is on vocal ability, harmonic ear training and rhythmic understanding. Ability to vocally improvise is also helpful. The USU Jazz Choir is directed by Derek Furch, who also directs the *Sunburst Singers* and oversees the *Glenn Miller Show* production.
The USU Talent Bureau provides opportunities for students and community members to utilize their talents, helping to meet campus and community needs for high quality entertainment. Interested individuals or groups that have an entertainment offering already put together should consider registering. The Talent Bureau is in essence a referral agency, and as requests for entertainment come in, the office is able to satisfy requests with the specific kind of entertainment they are looking for. All styles of performers are needed: singers, comedians, jugglers, dancers, bands, wedding accompanists, lion tamers, or whatever!
Call the USU Department of Programs & Entertainment for more information. (435) 797-1738
