While surfing the Web, have you wondered why there are so many Web sites where you have to scroll to the right because you can never get the whole page to show up on your screen?

I had seen many pages that would tell you, "Best viewed at 800 x 600." I thought, great, wonderful.  (I had no clue how to do that.)  Then, one day I came upon a site that actually explained HOW to do it (boy, did I feel dumb).  To that person, I say THANK YOU!

As you may have guessed by my reaction, there is a very simple way to fix this.

Note:  This is for Windows 95 users.  I am not sure how you would do this with Windows 98 or with a Mac

Follow these steps:

  • Go to Start on your computer
  • Scroll up to Settings
  • Click on Control Panel
  • Double Click on Display
  • Click Settings Tab
  • Find Desktop Area
  • Choose 800 X 600 pixels
  • Click OK

  • Voila! That's all there is to it.
