Harpist and Composer

   Digno Garcia 

    He was born in Luque in 1923. He began in the music to the twelve years   like singer in Julián's group he Relaxes in 1935. He was devoted then to the production of Paraguayan harps and later to late to the professional actividad  as interpreter and composer. He is owed the great diffusion of the instrument in America and Europe.

        It integrated the group of Gumercindo Ayala Aquino with which Central America traveled during five years. In Mexico it studied studies of musical theory. One of their composiciones  for Cracked harp (1944), it was used by years like musical curtain of Radio Vatican's programs for Latin America.

        It integrated starting from 1952 the Trio The Paraguayans, group liderado for Luis Alberto of the Paraná that enjoyed diplomatic range to diffuse the Paraguayan music in the old world, with this group recorded for the Philips instrumental topics for harp as The bird bell and Cascade that reached international diffusion.

        In 1956 dissolved the Trio The Paraguayans, it formed the Trio The Pampas with Juan Alfonso Ramíres and Chinita Montiel. Later it formed the Worthy group García and their Carios, counting in their to have the recording of but of 50 disks. The celebrated artist plastic Spanish Salvador Dalí, admirer of his virtuosity, I dedicate him a work in rock cristal  The Guitar. In the last years it resided in Brussels, Belgium.

        Among the official recognitions for their work received the Medal National Merit.

        Their more diffused compositions are: Cascada, Mi comañera, A mi Paraguay, Mi nostalgia, Viajera, Chochi mi, Canto a mi tierra, Luqueñita, Noches Asuncenas, Mis dos amores,   Costa brava, Ismelda, Marina and others.

        It died February 4 1984.
