Sosa Escalada

        He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina January of 1877, 16 where his father, of Paraguayan nationality, was banished by political causes. Considered the father of the guitar school of the Paraguay, studied his first studies in the Normal School of Buenos Aires, in Concepción's Normal School; Uruguay in the Naval School Argentina and in National School of Buenos Aires. He studied music with their uncles Juan Manuel Sosa Escalada and Yellow Manuel, then with Juan Aláis, Antonio Ferreiro and Carlos García Tolsa. In Buenos Aires it acted in the Teatro Politeama and it was professor of guitar of the international school Porchetti. It arrived in the Paraguay toward 1894. it acted November 25 1895 for the first time in the National Theater, in duet with Teodosio González, in a concert organized by the Paraguayan Institute. In this institution you acting as guitar professor in the lapse of 1897/1898 and 1908/1909. it was teacher of the celebrated Agustín Barrios Mangoré, playing to duet in concerts starting from 1908 and in tours (1922 and 1923). It introduced to the Paraguay and the technique of the classic guitar and, to more than Neighborhoods, they were their pupils: Quirino Báez Allende, Enriqueta González, Dionisio Basualdo and others.

        As writer it collaborated in The Opinion, The Nation, The Liberal, The Civic one, The Newspaper, The Order and The Country. He also taught exact sciences in schools of Asunción. It was author of, a chronicle on the events of the Paraguayan revolution of 1904. among their compositions   for guitar figures: Memories of the Hell, TO the glory, Don God liberates us, Studies arpegiados in more Fa, Buenos Aires Sky, Gavota, Zaida Mercedes, María, Totón (Havanan); several polkas, Nydia (it Goes mililtar) and a symphonic Fantasy (unconcluded).

        He died in Asunción in 1943.
