Lorenzo Leguizamón

Harpist and Composer.

        He was born in Ybytymi in 1920. He learned how to play the harp in their native city and their professional career began to the 16 year-old age, in radio Teleco next to Toledo Núñez. Later with the combined Rubito Larramendia in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It developed an outstanding career like interpreter of the Paraguayan harp, next to the celebrated Félix Pérez Cardozo, with who worked during two and a half years up to 1952, and then in Europe integrating different popular groups as The Guarani, Luis Alberto of the Paraná and The Paraguayans, and others. It recorded numerous disks like soloist, and with the duet Vargas Saldivar, the Trio of Gold, Lucio Milena, for CBS, RCA Víctor and Philips, besides the national stamps Marpar and Guarani. He is an author of more than 120 compositions among those that stand out: Ybytymi, Ykua herdsman, Harp purory, Kurukau veve, Ña seve, My grandmother, Sombrero'í, Karaí Fermín, Charara, TO my starlet, Melgarejo Jeroky, Soldier of the Chaco and others.
