Chapter 6
Syn and Tay were back to talking, just most of the time it wasn't the kind of talk you'd let your parents, or other people in general, hear. The tryouts for the play came and all Syn's friends were going to give it a go. Taylor, of course, was the first to get done with his audition so he came back to where I was sitting in the first to last row, darkest corner and sat behind me. He leaned forward and moved my hair away so he could start kissing my neck softly. I giggled at his light kisses as they climbed higher towards my ear. He nibbled the ear lobe momentarily and started whispering in my ear.
"Syn, will you please be my girlfriend? There are so many thing I wanna do with you that I can't do without making you look like a slut or something.", he whispered, in his very unpoetic but honest nonetheless way.
"Thinking with our head instead of our head again aren't we?"
"always. Now come on, what do you say? I know you want me, and its fairly obvious I want you, and haven't we made out point yet?" I looked over at him a second and gave him a 'Are You Serious?!' look. His answer were his pleading blue eyes.
"fine, I'll be your girlfriend.", I said laughing.
"Great, let's get out of here, NOW", he said grabbing my hand and pulling me up. I walked out with him and we went to my car this time. We hopped in my yellow mustang and drove away from the school.
"Got anywhere special you'd like to take us?", I asked hinting.
"Yeah, can this thing take a little trek in the woods?"
"Last time I checked it could."
"Aiight then", he said as we veared off the road and onto this pretty hidden path into the woods, we went far enough in to where we couldn't be seen from the highway and we could still make it out of there. He turned off the engine and climbed in my tiny backseat. I laughed at how blunt he was. I climbed back there with him and took off my shirt and his immediately, if not only because it'd save more time in doing it later. After a second or two of kissing we looked at each other and just busted out laughing. We were absolutely ridiculous. He pulled me forward and I curled into his lap, not feeling cold for a long time, and breathing in his scent. We were so content. It was nice. I hadn't gotten to be content in a long time.

At school Taylor was very touchy feely with me. I laughed at him all the time, cause if I tried to get a feel back he'd act surprised or back away. I don't know why, its not like these students didn't already think we were having sex. Which amazingly we weren't. We'd get almost there, and then he'd shy off. I just assumed he was scared or he set limits for himself or something. I didn't know, didn't care. It was hellafied fun while it lasted. I always wished I was a sophmore so I could maybe have classes with him, and I dropped out of cheerleading so I could go watch drama even when I was able to drive and walk again. It was really nice being with Tay. It was. Unlike with Nick and I, even though it looked completely sexual on the outside, it really wasn't. We did spend time when we weren't teasing each other or something. We started making it a ritual to go to the Waffle House and eat breakfast together every Saturday. We always ended up just laughing or something in each others arms when things would just start so intimate and sexual and fall into cuddling. We'd lay naked on his bed and watch TV instead of fucking! We were a strange pair, but I'm sure Fate was looking out for us. That is, until the question of the Prom came in, then it was my turn to actually decide something.
"Are we going to the prom?", he asked me once. We were at his house outside supposedly raking the leaves, but really just laying in a pile of them.
"Do you want to go to prom?", I asked, a bit unnerved. I didn't know whether I wanted to go to the prom or not.
"Yeah, I would absolutely love to see you fancied up just for me."
"Well, I guess I'll get the tickets when they come out"
"You don't want us to go do you?"
"I didn't say that!"
"It's in your voice Syn."
"Look, I'm sorry okay. It's just, I don't even like my world, and so far you haven't gotten drug into it too badly, but this just may swallow you in, and I'm scared."
"Well, most of that's bullshit, but the scared part is true."
"What?!"
"Syn, you know the only thing your scared of is them seeing you with a softie at the prom. You still have some socialite in you. Just, look at it this way. We've made out at games, against lockers, against cars, against the school, during lunch, at parties, and pretty much everywhere else, they've seen us together, they know we're together and I think they'd look down on you if you didn't take me."
"How do you know that?"
"I have a junior and senior source who love to gossip. They're expecting us there, and its like this secret that everyone's sort of looking forward to seeing us dolled up. Did you know we're nominated for cutest couple? I mean, come on Syn."
"I just.... let me think about it Tay, just give me a day or two."
"It's okay Syn, I understand."
More coming soon!
