More Ska Bands!!!
(Los Skarnales, Middlefinger, and O'Doyle Rules)
Los Skarnales
I've actually got some recordings of this superior ska band.  The question is what truly sets this band apart from the others?  This band truly could stick out except in Texas, they are truly Texas's Prime Ministers of Latino Ska.  I know you are probably expecting zydeco or something, right?  Nah, this band hits closer to two-tone ska, but there is a difference.  These guys have as many fans and are as fun to listen to as any third wave group.  They have numerous honors: compilations, CD's, work with Moon Ska, and a almost endless list of articles about them.  Most recently the Houston Chronicle said that Los Skarnales was the best band at a concert held in The International Ball Room with the winner of this years Grammy in Latino music!  Go visit the guys and their record label Pinche Flojo.
Middlefinger
This is a great ska, um, something band that is rapidly becoming one of Houston's best.  I probably couldn't define them if I try, but I will anyway.  Imagine a crowded dance hall packed with skankers, rudeboys, punks, posers, and metal-heads.  When the show is over all of these groups go home happy.  You think it can't happen?  Well you haven't seen Middlefinger.  With two CD's under their belt this is one of Houston's highest demanded group.  They mix metal, ska, punk, reggae, and rock into what a friend of mine calls the Bastard of Funk.  This is a group to definately see!  Visit them at this address.
O'Doyle Rules
I've know this band since the started long ago.  I remember when the styles they played included funk and hardcore.  No one truly knows more what it takes to be a success more than this great band O'Doyle Rules.  All of the members have been envolved this project for years and have changed their line-ups more times than I can count.  Most recently they have played with:  Half Loaded, Vent-o-lators, The Gops, The Agents, Deceptikanz, Slow Gerkin, Shut Up and Dance, and many more!  Keep up the good work guys and good luck!  Go visit the guys here.
