Dream Journals
This dream began with
myself walking towards a large victorian-style mansion.
Something I should mention
about this dream is that the perspective was very odd. Imagine walking
through a world the size of a widescreen-version movie, except you're still
full height. I crouched and crawled the whole dream though I didn't
really remember that until I woke up.
I'm walking towards this
mansion with some unidentifiable person beside me acting as my guide.
We enter
the mansion and there
inside is a huge spiral staircase that winds up through all the floors
of the place,
leaving a long drop down
the center of the staircase as it winds around and up.
I follow my strange guide
up several floors and everything seems off-coloured.....too brown or grayish
to be real. We
finally reach the highest floor and as we turned the corner I immediately
noticed three women
leaning up against the
railing where the spiral staircase reached the floor we stood on.
The three women were very
strange....they had extremely pale skin, almost like a vampire in a movie,
and were perfect of feature.
Not beautiful as in attractive. Not in real standards....just intensely
beautiful in the most unreal way possible. Each were perfectly different
as well. One had jet black hair, the other dark red, and the last
woman light blonde. All three had bright blue eyes.
They all watched me as
I came up to face them....their faces were so sad, and they were looking
at me
as if whatever horrible
wrong had been done was my doing, and I couldn't say anything....I was
overwhelmed
by their sadness.
My own vision, in that moment that seemed to last forever, focused slowly
on the blonde woman, who stood the furthest from me....leaning back slightly
over the railing of the staircase.
Her face became everything
I could see, bright blue eyes piercing me completely, and ever so slowly
I watched a single tear
escape from the corner of her eye and roll down her cheek. And fall
from her.
Suddenly the world distorted,
rippling and blurry. And I was falling and falling, a wooden floor
rushing up at me until......
I snapped awake.
And as I lay there in
confusion in my bed trying to figure out what had happened, it suddenly
occurred to me....
For several seconds before
I awoke,
I had become the woman's
teardrop.
The dream began with me
speaking to someone I knew in a school parking lot,
Not necessarily an unusual
thing. But somewhere amidst the conversation I noticed
A mushroom cloud up on
the horizon over the edge of the valley. The world was ending.
The first thought that
popped into my head was that I had to go up the hill. I had to say
good-bye
to my best friend who
lived on the hill. I headed off towards the hill with no further
thought, and
of course there was a
path that led directly from my location to my destination.
Somewhere along the path
I completely forgot about the whole concept of having to go see someone.
All I knew is that I
was headed to the end of this path and there was someone I couldn't identify
walking
beside me. At the
end of the path was a small wooden shack with a single door and window,
inside of which was nothing except a starry void. The man next to
me turned to me and said
"You're not seriously
going in there are you?"
To which I didn't bother
replying. I wasn't afraid in the slightest.
I walked in through the
door and fell for a few moments before landing on a solid platform just
hovering
there in this void.
On the platform was a couch with a small table in front of it and a woman
with pure blonde
hair and bright blue
eyes....this was one of the earlier appearances of the recurring character
I know as Safyre. She was sitting cross-legged in the center of the
couch with her eyes closed in heavy concentration.
After a few moments she
seemed to notice my presence and opened her eyes, walked over to where
I was
and embraced me.
Releasing me, she smiled and told me
"I'll be out in a minute,
Love. I'm trying to hold the world together."
Next thing I was aware
of I was standing outside the small wooden shack again, but this time on
the
opposite side from where
I had entered. There was a path leading down the hill again with
a large metal gate
at the end of it.
The gate was wide open and for some reason the realization dawned on me
that in the total annihilation of our world only this small area where
I was had been spared, and only it's inhabitants had survived.
For some reason, this
thought made me happy.
I felt unbelievably alive
as I wandered down the path towards the open gate. I walked through
them and into a humongous wide-open space. Only then did I notice
that the massive field was a city. An entire city complete with huge
skyscrapers and lifted freeways....only it was abandoned and empty, and
overgrown with ivy and vines and flowers and all sorts of plantlife.
The entire area looked as if it had been devoid of humanity for hundreds
of years....
And it was by far the
most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Sometime amidst my staring all around me, trying to take it all in, I woke up. And the realization hit me that everyone I knew and loved was dead. And I couldn't understand why I was so happy.
